No, not a full week but it should be more than 1 days rest. Start the series on the Monday instead of the Saturday and just play prime time every night.

Even if we lose I want to see Lowder pitch vs Caglione and Langford.

I want the best possible matchups.

Not a week but start Monday.

I was screaming this last year when it was OM and Arky so this isn’t homerism.

Wrong- I agree. Ridiculous to have a bullpen game in game 1 of a championship series. Let each team trot out what got them there. Ace vs Ace is how it should start....unless someone gets cute and pitches their Ace in game 2.

The entire sport is centered around weekend series. Rosters, rotations, schedules, everything in college baseball is focused to compete for three games every weekend.

Even the NCAA regionals are largely set up the same way. Every team has the opportunity to only play three games. Win all three and you advance. Lose a game, and only then do you have to work harder, and dig deeper into your roster.

Super Regionals are three games, with the opportunity to only play two.

The CWS brackets are set up the same as the Regional round. Every team has the opportunity to only play three games to advance out of their bracket, except the competition is much tougher.

CWS Finals:
Instead of getting 4 or 5 days rest, the two teams that advance out of the Bracket Round only get 1 or 2 days.

That’s the turnaround time for a single meaningless midweek game, not the most important three games of the season.

Pays to be a winner. UF plays 3 games in a week, gets two days off and starts a 3 game series. Wake is only going to play 4 games in the span of a week. That's not bad. They'll get a day off and play a 3 game series if they win today. LSU is the same but will have to play 5 games in a week, get a day off then a 3 game series.

I think we clearly have the 3 best teams in the nation still alive. Ideally you want 4 teams so the UF bracket is balanced with the other one, but it is what it is this year.

All of these teams have delivered one of the best CWS ever this year.

Format is fine.

This isn't Little League - you don't get to coast to a trophy on just one arm. You have to have a complete team and a deep pitching staff.

Kinda, except that you have Wake and LSU that are both top 5 teams and UF played TCU which has been ranked much lower all year. So it’s easily arguable that UF got lucky with the draw and benefited that way.

I don’t think it should be ace v ace for game 1, but it definitely sucks to potentially not have your ace available for the championship series.

I don’t think a week.

But starting Monday like they used to seemed fine. Wonder why they changed it.

It appears Wake might also throw their Ace today.

The best part about a delay finals are all of the fans that make last min trips. I remember when Vanderbilt barely had anyone there until they made the finals. Had never seen so many Vandy fans in one place.

Another good point. If there’s a raindrop on Saturday Johnson needs to try to delay the start. Currently forecast 80%

That would be a TV ratings nightmare. They may have a few viewers because of two reasons right now.
There isn't much going on in sports
Some people have become engaged as it airs nightly.

You take a week off and all interest would be lost except the two teams playing.
They can't lose the few viewers they have right now. ESPN usually takes a bath carrying this thing. I think they are sliding it over to the Duece tonight to cover the NBA Draft.
