Spurrier 23-1 in season opening games as a college HC... His only loss was to South Carolina in 1989 in his last season at Duke.
SC and UGA have played more times than UF-FSU.
Also aren't there crazy droughts between some SEC matchups? I think it was UGA-UT or UF-UT where they didn't play each other for a couple of decades.

LSU was the first American college team to play on foreign soil, playing in the 1907 Bacardi Bowl at La Tropical Stadium in Havana, Cuba. LSU beat Havana University 56-0.

UT and UGA played only 20 times before expansion put them in the same division.
UT and UF only met 21 times before expansion.

Although Jackie Sherrill is the all time winningest coach in Mississippi State history, he finished his career with a .500 career record at 75 - 75.
Bear Bryant coached at Kentucky and A&M for 11 years prior to coaching at Alabama. Bryant also led Kentucky to the Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Sugar Bowl. Kentucky's final AP poll rankings under Bryant included #11 in 1949, #7 in 1950, #15 in 1951, #20 in 1952 and #16 in 1953.
Bryant led A&M to the SWC championship. The following year, 1957, Bryant's star back John David Crow won the Heisman Trophy (the only Bryant player to ever earn that award).

Did you know:

How is this a weird or shocking fact? Florida St football is like half the age of SEC football teams. We didn't start playing FBS level college football until the Mid 50s. Since FSU didn't start playing Florida until 1958, the UF-FSU series can't realistically have more games played against each other the the SC-UGA series.

Despite being one of the dominant programs in the country during the 60s and 70s, Alabama went nearly 9 full years without winning a bowl game from Jan 2nd, 1967 to Dec 31st, 1975. Alabama went 0-7-1 in bowls during that time.
Alabama is the only school in the country with at least 4 Rose Bowl, 4 Orange Bowl, and 4 Sugar Bowl wins.

Because UF and FSU has long been billed as a major in-state rivalry game without reference to FSU's relative youth so I don't think most realize that SC and UGA, two out of state schools who haven't historically been in the same conference, have played so many times in comparison to in-state rivalries.

They were a girls school for forever. Well they still are but that's another story.
