New Orleans has hosted two world's fairs, and both of them helped rescue the city, even though they both were financial flops.

I grew up around a lot of dogs. I don't remember any of them shitting themselves or bleeding over a fricking thunderstorm. Ever. Sounds like these freaked-out dogs are conditioned to have such fears....

That book is crazy. Who knows how much of it is true? But, it reveals some very interesting information. Great book just to learn some forgotten history of New Orleans....

It was a good festival when it was oriented around boating and the lake. Used to have boat races, and the lake was packed with boats, particularly along the sea wall. It was a lot of fun in those days.
