If the refs in college ball would do what the nfl does it shouldnt be a need for the 10 sec rule.
They stand over the ball until teams are set and the refs are in place.
And that is the big thing, the refs in place.

I honestly think this is what is ultimately going to happen. The defense can have a couple of seconds to substitute

That's a good point. I think the officials would appreciate the time to get set as much as anyone.

Great jimmie rustling thread!
The deflecting and messenger-shooting is just fabulous...I'm jealous...opps, should I not use the word "jealous" around Auburn and LSU folks?

Yes...and those officials that used to have to be shape to keep up with the action of the game, can start looking more like baseball umpires. I'm sure they would also appreciate Starbucks breaks along the way. And Bama's linemen can sit Indian-style on the field while mama brings them bacon sandwiches and wipes their arse.

Slow it down...slow it waaaaaaay down. That's what fans want! Oh, the polls at 10-1 against this?

Saban said it was an INJURY, SAFETY issue... Do not see that in our DC comments...

He is old, but learned to adjust, unlike someother folks...

So its not really about player safety, is it then

as did Rogers Redding and the other people supporting the rule. Redding said there is no data to back up the injury claim but that it was common sense that if a player is gassed and/or not set and needs to come out, leaving him in is probably a dangerous thing to do.

I've seen you respond to posts in this manner several times. I understand that with situations that have significance in more than one area, you folks have a difficult time grasping the other ramifications, but please try harder...having to go back over each aspect is so time consuming.

Not nearly as bad as the 1001 "Saban is a scared pussy" thread started by every Auburn fan with dial-up.

Your own DC has the very same position....or had till he got a job at Auburn.

He probably likes getting a paycheck - most people do.

If he were the DC of a team that didn't run the HUNH then he'd reverse his opinion again.

No big deal - no shocker.

Quit trying to make it an Auburn thing - its not.

So Saban has been on the record about the issue for sometime and he gets flamed but Johnson gets a pass.

Couldn't that same logic be applied to Coach Saban and this HUNH controversy?
I can't wait to hear this response!

So when one coach tries to lobby to get rules changed to his advantage, he's just doing his job, but when another coach does the exact same thing, he's a pussy or a coward. Welcome to the SECr, where everything my coach does is great and everything your coach does is terrible.

Another thread full of dumbasses. I guess I'm one too for thinking that someone on the internet might have even a tiny grasp of their biases.

We blasted Ellis on here as well when he said these quotes.

Then WTF are y'all making such a big deal out of Saban's position on the issue?

He's also said it affects the game in a a shitty way. Everyone agrees with this last part, now if he can just get it passed with the safety angle, we'll be set.

How many non-Auburn posts do you have? How many non-Flame posts do you have?

We get it, you would defend Saban if he screwed your wife, in fact I'm sure you would encourage it.

Oh, BTW, you have Nick's Ball Sack Blisters on your chin. Might need some salve for that.
