Righttttttt. He landed those #1 classes without handing out piles of cash under the table.
It's always bizarre to me when Auburn fans of all people chastise other schools for these sorts of shenanigans.

Alabama Jones was hilarious.

Lifelong Alabama fan here but that is funny as shite. Coach was triggered big time. They are probably going to stop letting people who are actually funny on the show.

Righttttt so Nick Saban is the first and only coach to offer bags of cash under the table... what a genius if only all the other coaches were as smart as him!

Nope. Heard that way before I ever heard of Nick Saban. Some time around 1995, bitch.

Coach is out of the game now, and schools are incredibly excited about the departure. Your school has a clear track record of cheating, dating back to the 50’s. Coach was a great recruiter. Everyone did not have to pay players to get them to come to his school like Good Ol’ Reverend Hugh.

Saban has been good overall this year on TV, but agree he could have rolled with that better. But of course it is much more personal to him than it is to us watching it.
Obviously an environment where players can't be systemically paid by the program is/was beneficial to Alabama under Saban, because then at least most of the players were making decisions for reasons other than money, chief among those were where is best to be developed for the NFL. You're a clown if you don't think the NFL pipeline is why Alabama had been getting such great recruiting classes under Saban. Maybe someone related to Alabama paid someone along the line (i'm sure), but it isn't like Alabama was paying 30 players in the recruiting class every single year for a decade plus and just not getting caught.

I don't think Saban was angry, I thought he handled it pretty well
he knows it was some light rib punching

Saban isn’t used to people not kissing his arse. That Gillis fellow really shook him.

Amazing that he called him a cheater to his face
Cheating or not, he proved what kind of coach he was last year in the midst of NIL and the transfer portal. He took a statistically average team with few standout players and marched them undefeated through an SEC schedule before beating an elite Georgia team in the SEC Championship Game.

It’s common knowledge that Saban despises all the NIL stuff. The biggest stain on his legacy is what a bitch he has been about it, after a long career of engaging (very successfully) in the bag game. The second he lost his competitive advantage, which was afforded to him by his donors, he hung it up. I personally was disappointed to see it, because he’s the best coach of my lifetime.
