How did they get to that level? Check Alabama's record the year before Saban arrived. He rebuilt a program that 4* and 5* kids wanted to come play for.

He’s the GOAT coach because he is the GOAT recruiter and the GOAT at getting players to buy into the process
Also he was a hell of a defensive X&O guy. Also I’ve been most impressed at him realizing where CFB was going and making the adjustment to the wide open offense.

I think SOGs point is that Ohio State and Georgia have comparable rosters and don't win as much as Alabama. Shoot, LSU has great recruiting classes and don't win at that pace, although their win rate is extremely impressive.
Saban still manages to get really good replacements for coaches that leave. I do think that Saban's system adds to the success, so it's not out of line for saying that. But there is no one factor that can be pointed to.
It is not just recruiting, or system, or coaching. It all works together.

Everyone thinks that these coordinators are going to bring a Saban magic wand with them and it never happens. At some point you’d think they’d figure out its the system, but they haven’t yet.

I think schools do this just to undermine Alabama. Can’t let saban’s staff stay too long together and let them gel. And seriously why doesn’t anyone raid Dabo’s staff?!?!

Don’t know much about the history of Alabama football do you. They won in the past with other coaches and will win when Saban is long gone.
