Did you upgrade the Fitbit?

I did that and it works ok. But, now it autostarts some timer when I'm out running / biking. Gotta get rid of that next.
If done well it's OK.

I call em Philly turns bc years ago before the advent of flashing yellow / turn arrows / left turn lanes the only way you get to turn left for blocks and blocks in Philly is to plant yourself in the middle of the intersection.

But, when it turns yellow and the oncoming traffic stops, you turn.

Land of the hunter / hunted - it's tough out there.

I did...when I was first diagnosed with Afib, back when I was about 50.

It was no problem as I didn't drink daily. But I did long for a beer sometimes at the end of the day.

But then I figured out that all the docs say "you have Afib, you can't drink" for everyone, even super healthy people like me. Now I drink on weekends.
CapitalOne had a question on their annual associate survey: "Is work fun?"

Every year I'd respond "No" and give them hell in the free form comments. Not that it made any difference.

I'm retired, 64, and find fun in something every day. Find something to look forward to.

Tomorrow? It's gonna be taking the kayak out fishing with some new changes I made to my rig. Can't wait.

People are responsible for their own happiness. If they aren't, they have noone to blame but themselves.
I ride this one, fixing to go on a ride right now.

It's a Class 1, which means pedal assist only. It's carbon and weighs 45 lbs. It's a 29er, that seat height you see is 43" off the ground.

I'm 64, 6'2 185 lbs (yes, OT skinny), been in afib 24/7 for the past 3 years.

I do not have the power / longevity to do all the climbing I'm accustomed to for bike parks here in Virginia.

I only ride off road with it, on designated mountain bike trails.

I rode dirt bikes as a kid. This is my happy place in the world, hauling arse through the woods. And this thing is a beast / godsend.

It's only money. Be reckless, you only live once.

I've owned all kinds of fast cars/MC's since I was a teen. Got rid of most of them. Got into Jeeps.

Still have a former VIR racecar. Nothing fancy really, just an old Foxbody, but it's got a full cage, stick, no side glass, drives like a go cart.

AND, to another respondent's post, I live in a rural Va area that's hilly and curvy with little to no traffic. So it can be fun.
Retired now, but while i was working in the corp world I also:
- Taught tech classes at community college and university level for 10 years
- Consulted / coded for another 10
- Purchased crappy houses, renovated, flipped and rented houses for 10 (still have some). Ended up with about 20-25 units before I got out (kids)

I know guys that will hit anything that moves.

These two actually have vaginas so no question.
To see a fat disgusting woman who sits in her Tahoe in the handicapped spot up front smoking. Then getting out and using a scooter to go in the store.

That is worse.
Spanberger vetoes the Retail Marijuana bill she campaigned on passing.
- of course, she wanted to bump up the state tax from 10-15%, among other changes.
- the Va Dem legislature ignored all her changes
- she vetoes

Spanberger vetos pot bill

She vetoes the Dems landmark public sector collective bargaining bill
- she promised this during her campaign
- unions are pissed about this

Spanberger vetors collective bargaining bill

These actions and her bumbling leadership on the redistricting fiasco has Va Dems seriously questioning their choice. Many are calling her a shill for Big Pharma and business interests.

I intend on continually reminding them from my corner of the world.

That's "bald" peanuts, baw.

People like you are the problem with the countryside being ruined.

People gotta live somewhere.

Most rural places CANNOT subdivide to residential (three acres or less).

If it's happening around you then your civic leaders are allowing it. You need to direct your anger to them instead of some random person on the internet.

It's likely the three acres this guy purchased was subdivided many years ago to a family member of someone who owned a much larger plot.

LIghten up Francis.
My father ended up on a cul-de-sac in a really nice Panhandle golfing community but always yearned for a plot with a big shop in Crestview. My mother wouldn't permit it.

My sister thinks her boys have it made also living in golf communities in NC.

I'm the outlier, living on a farm. Fishponds, trails, shop with a lift, shooting range. I haven't made it back to what Grandpa had in Natchitoches Parish, but I've done alright.

Buy land baws. More and more land. And live on it. You'll be glad you did the older you get.

You are correct, they don't. What they do is find "financial aid / scholarships" for kids they want there. They found 60K a year.

Not saying your son made the wrong choice, but a football star at a private school with wealthy alumni will have a lot of doors open for him.
Absolutely agree. That was one of the primary pros for Hampden Sydney. Hell, the weekend he stayed there he connected with a pair of football player brothers whose parents live in Ft Lauderdale and bring their boat over to their place in the Bahamas for the weekend.

And, academics of course. They require all students to take a Rhetoric course once a year where they learn/reinforce how to prepare for debates, presentations, high pressure communications. I was all over that. Oh well.

Male only liberal arts college? That couldn’t sound more gay. Be glad he isn’t going there.

Not the vibe when I was there. Talking to coaches, players, former players. It was pointed out that Longwood College is 5 mins away, where 5,000 young fillies await.

Also, Hampden Sydney founders included Patrick Henry and James Madison. I don't think "gay" was in fashion. They were men.

Yep. He's gonna be in the hull of those ships in July, August, gonna feel it first hand.

His ultimate goal is to get out of Virginia for Florida. We have family / friends in PCB, one of whom is an elec contractor. That's what he's targeting.

I'll take that as a compliment. I wrote that in 10 mins while drinking my coffee this AM.

I guess it's one thing I do miss in retirement. Creating clear, concise communications for the teams / orgs I worked for, to drive work.
