Serious question for LSU fans re: Wade

I posted in an earlier thread that I'm glad Wade is returning to LSU, but I do have a question for LSU fans given that this situation of a school rehiring a coach that they previously fired hasn't occurred very often: will you be happy if Wade simply repeats the same level of success that he previously had at LSU, or do you expect him to improve on that, and if so, why? And to be clear I'm not asking if you'd be happy compared to McMahon because that answer is obvious, I'm asking compared to your own expectations for his second tenure.

Yes. We were relevant in basketball. Not national title contenders, but yearly tournament contenders and often in the hunt for the SEC.
Right now we are the worst team in the SEC and have been for 3 years.

How much NIL money will Wade use that would have otherwise gone to the football team?

Just get us to the tournament and see where the chips fall. He has shown continuously he can do that. He’s also going to be ready to prove to the world that he can come back and finish what he started. This guy’s gonna have a fire in him unlike any other. Good luck out recruiting him. Watch for a big influx of talent to start flowing into the Bayou boys.

We made the tournament every year there was one (would have made the 2020 tourney too if COVID hadn't canceled it) except his first year. Under the coach before him and the coach after him, we went to the tournament once in 9 years.
Wade makes us relevant. I didn't say "title contenders." I'm happy being relevant in men's basketball.

If he has us making the tournament every year like he did while he was here and competing for SEC championships again then that’d be gravy.
A final four would be a cherry on top.

I’d be very happy. Get to the tournament which he achieved.

Will Wade took over a program that had just gone 2-16 in SEC play and went on to win the SEC in his 2nd year.
So, yes, we’ll be perfectly fine with him repeating the same level of success at LSU.

SEC Championship
SEC Tournament final
4 straight tournament teams
Sweet 16 appearance and 4 tournament wins
All with a significant cloud hanging over him by the NCAA
Yes. Obviously YES.

I’m interested to see if he makes as much as Skeletor. I’m not sure his ego could handle otherwise

If he repeats his previous level of success, I'll be happy with that - i.e. crack top 1/3 of the SEC and regularly make the NCAAT. All I need.

Winning the SEC? being relevant and or ranked in basketball annually? Making it to the postseason regularly? Making the Rant absolutely rustled daily? Absolutely

They’ve had to increase their NIL significantly in football, baseball and WBB. He may get a decent amount initially but LSU won’t be competitive with NIL in men’s bball after year 1.

Zero. The sentiment around BR regarding LSU basketball has essentially been “No confidence” in this staff and even though they upped the budget this year for the team, the results are the same.
I believe we are roughly middle of the pack currently in terms of basketball NIL spending. If LSU stays between positions 5-10 in basketball every year, 90% of fans will be happy

Yes
We were getting to the tournament every year and had a top 5 recruiting class on deck when Wade was fired.

Pre NIL.

Irrelevant to the question at hand
The question was would the LSU fanbase be happy if Wade just achieves the same level of success.
