Stern has sold out too and cleaned up his show. Its nowhere near what it used to be.

The Roundtable is honestly the best sports talk show in America. If Jim, Lance and Ryan were in New York City they'd be world famous.

Finebaum discussing sports and interviewing guests is great. Finebaum callers are awful. I dont listen because of them

His callers are very heavily screened. I am a very well spoke and rational person, and I can't make it on the show.

I enjoy the brevity of auburn calls as they have only a few minutes between pizza deliveries.

I record it everyday but only watch during FB season. He has a lot of analysts you don't get anywhere else, like Danny Sheridan and newspaper writers. The callers are like scraping your finger nails on a chalkboard board. I FF past them all.

during football season it's great background noise interrupted by some great guests, including players and local beat writers. and on some days Miss Laura Pretty is guest hosting, and she is always a delight. his show is also elevated when Marcus spears is on.
doing 4 hours ain't easy. no way can anyone keep to a high standard that long all the time.

You just made Finebaum's point, you are posting about him
Don't like, don't watch, that's the quickest way to get him off ESPN
But knowing ESPN they are all about bs right now

Well sort of.... out of boredom I listened to maybe 30 seconds a couple years ago ... that's was enough to hold me for the rest of my life.

I listen once in a blue moon because I know one of the crazy regular callers and I get a kick out of hearing him on air. His normal persona is very different from his on-air persona.
I could learn more about college sports talking to my wife than I could from Paul Finebaum.

Finebaum has mentioned on air several times, most recently last mth, that he's met his regular callers off site & discussed ways to make their calls "more exciting". The main arsehole, Jim, has described himself as among other things, a great actor.Point being, Finebaum's callers are staged & they do have access to the Hot Line, allowing themselves to get through directly, not having to wait hrs. His pro Bama bias is hard to stomach, but only because he's using a nationwide network, set up to highlight the entire SEC,to promote bama. He's said, on air several times, that the 3 greatest days in his life were when bama won their NC's.
