I watched his show several times a few months ago to see what the hype and his fame was about.
He’s terrible.
The hot blonde he has on isn’t that hot.
And who are the two kiss arse “guys” that kiss his arse on his show?
Is he doing their dad’s a favor by paying them ?
Doing a good job of promoting himself and I’m sure making money.
I will never watch again.
Imagine Bama fans love him.

His national show is an extremely neutered version of his old show. It was entertaining years ago when Tenn/Bama/AU fans were at each others throats & Paul was constantly trying to get various SEC coaches fired. Hes a company man now & the show has become lame & boring as hell as a result.

Nope. No he doesn’t. He even admits this. Lived in bham for 10 years before he went national. He readily admits he doesn’t know the mechanics/stats/nuances of football.

He’s a puppeteer and interviewer that knows how media works.

That’s literally it.

I don’t think he could have coherent conversation if you eliminated the words nick, alabama, tennessee, auburn, and saban from his vocabulary.

I don't watch him, but I've caught a show or 2 on the SEC Network.

He seems ok , but I can not stand open lines. It's not just his show, it's any show.

I record it everyday but only watch during FB season. He has a lot of analysts you don't get anywhere else, like Danny Sheridan and newspaper writers. The callers are like scraping your finger nails on a chalkboard board. I FF past them all.

Agree 100000000%

When he was based in B'ham, during football season he had some really good guests, both locally and nationally. They brought some good insight and Pat Dye was hilarious.

I really enjoyed his show when it was slow season. After football and after March Madness. He would have arbitrary guests on and talk about totally obscure topics. One of the best shows I ever listened to, he had Buddie Buie (song writer) on.

Think 960 AM
Vickers= foil
Mildred= humor to die for

When he was on 960 and had Vickers as someone to bounce ideas off of the show was must listen radio.
He had an old bag named Mildred who would call in on occasion that would make me roll on the floor laughing. She claimed to have had an affair with Pat Dye. And had a lesbian daughter. On and on.
The bigger he got the worst he got.
It is for the most part unwatchable.

He is adequate for small/medium market radio ie Birmingham. Montromery, etc

Letting Auburn, Alabama, Georgia stereotypical fans yell and scream at each other drew an audience.

It just has not got the appeal conference wide. He has the face for radio and newspaper but not for TV. That is not a cheap shot, as there are a lot people who do not have a face for TV.

He had some backups on radio that added to his program but the group on his TV show add nothing.

ESPN has a long contract and they are having to continue airing it because they have a contract.

If you live outside Alabama and West Georgia listening to his selected "homers" ie Tammy etc, you just don't get it.

I just noticed that you listed a number of things about other programs basically saying they were more informative and/or better managed. I didn't see you say they were more entertaining (at least not in the OP). That really is the point. Some people find The Roundtable entertaining, I think it is milktoast in a snowstorm. Some people think Dan Le Betard is hilarious and a good interviewer others believe all he talks about is race and can't keep an interview on track.

Many people like to listen to people they think they are better than yell about college football. I mean isn't that why you come to this message board? It is basically the same demographic. The appeal is obvious, many like it and some don't.

One word. Entertainment. Howard Stern, people who loved his show listened for a hour or two each day. People who hated his show, listened for four hours a day.

People who truly and really don’t care, don’t post on sports boards about it.

That stupid opening song is so terrible. ESPN made his show basically a clown show. Paul has always taken calls from losers but it used to not be the heart of the show. Now its basically an SEC version of the Maury show.
