Ok. You are predicting a 9 wins season but also that Bama and UGA are 50/50 games. It doesn't make sense

12 games in a regular season. I will never pencil in a win vs Florida, I’ve seen too many scrub Gator teams pull it off against the Vols, 2 50/50 games, an improving UofSC and a great home test against a talented TAMU. Those are my tossup games. 3-4 losses from that group is very reasonable.

What about your spring game

Spring games are fan fests, all but irrelevant. The information I presented (and answered for the Vols) was based on spring practice report.

You’re going to lose to UGA. That’s not a 50/50 game. You Tennessee people never learn your lesson.

I can see you guys going 9-3. If Milton plays at the level Hendon Hooker did last year, Tennessee beats UGA in the east.

Have no idea to any of those questions. Everybody is undefeated and everybody thinks they will stay that way. Will know when the season starts.

Doesn’t Tennessee have a hearing with the NCAA this week? How do you think that will turn out?

What makes uga and bama 50/50 odds IYO?

What are your odds for:

Florida
Carolina
Aggies

New QB and coordinators coupled with loses to the NFL in comparison to the situation for the Vols.

Milton is head and shoulders better than whoever either UGA or Bama trot out and in an established better system with a better supporting cast. The difference (and why it’s a 50/50 is Bama and UGA recruit well on defense and have shown they can replace loses on D.

Florida odds are irrelevant until the Vols can put a streak together and win a bunch against them. I’ve seen absolute garbage Gator teams just dominate better Vols teams. It’s 100% mental. UofSC is getter better. If they can find some consistency they will steal a few they shouldn’t (hell they did last year too). Aggies are an unknown, they bought a great class that should park the the next 2 years. If they play to their ability they should be able to beat anyone.

Now don’t get your panties in a bunch, UGA should be good but not great. They will be either 1st or second in the east.

I fully expect Pruitt to get a 10 year show cause and the Vols to lose some evaluation slots and a scholarship or 2. They might have to officially disassociate from Fulmer and vacate 3 wins or some nonsense.

Not concerned.

Are these games 50/50, better, or worse?

Some bold claims here after the way uga has pushed the vols around on both offense and defense.

I quit with the Spring Game waste of time about ten years ago.

Spring Games mean absolutely nothing.

Oft times Spring Game MVPs are never heard-from again.

Many times, players in Spring Games are gone by July or August.

Sometimes, good players are unnecessarily injured in Spring Games.

Spring Games mean zilch.

... unless you're a fan, or a little kid, or a walkon perhaps, I guess. I dunno. I find no redeeming value in Spring Games.

Love the QB, skill positions. Still not thrilled with questions on OL & tackling. Work to do there IMO.

As I have stated before, I think people are underestimating UGA offense because they just think of UGA having a defensive philosophy and the offense does not try to feature one guy versus making sure every one eligible is a viable threat. The latter is what is going to be having opposing defenses tear their hair out this Fall.

As stated in the thread above, unless there are a crazy amount of injuries, the depth at WR and RB is simply incredible. No one can replace what Washington brought at TE, and to be fair, I was less than impressed by Delp on Saturday, but then again just about all guys will pale in comparison to Bowers when sharing a field. I will reserve my thoughts on OL as it is hard to know what to think in a Spring Game as there is limited pass rush, but there is enough returning experience that they should be similar to last year.

I hope the incoming scholarship kicker works out because these kickers are going to have to do better than what I saw on Saturday. In a real game, I think at least a couple had a good chance of being blocked- just too low on the trajectory.

Beck should be more than fine when things are going well. But as we all know, there will come a time when he will either show his true mettle when everything isn't working or he won't. We will all find out which one only once that happens, no matter how pretty and catchable a ball he throws. However, I hope it is the former and I hope he stays healthy because I do not think UGA will win a national title if Beck goes down against the meat of the schedule. I simply wasn't impressed by how slow BVG reads and release on the football were, given he has been in the program for two years now. Stockton also held onto the ball too long and didn't have great pocket awareness that I saw. They probably have had better days out of the spotlight and have their plusses as well, but neither looked ready for primetime yet. I also do not agree with the premise that any of them are a more talented QB than Bennett, at least not until they show it to me on the field.

I think there is very little reason to not think the D won't be good enough next year, but the young secondary will be expected to step up. However, I don't think a Spring Game really says much about them as offense is what the crowd comes to see and the schemes are pretty vanilla. For the most part, they seemed to tackle well enough.
