You Tennessee people never learn your lesson.

What lesson is that? That you're our permanent daddy? We led the series until 4 years ago, and you only lead it by 4 now. That doesn't sound like much of a permanent status to me. Things change, the only question is when.

You never learn that you are the Nebraska of the SEC. You’ll never win another championship. Especially not while Kirby is in Athens.

Are you happy with the QB situation? No. Not one start amongst them.

Do you have any issues or concerns at any of the skill positions?

Yes. Our best WR went to Texas. Ladd McConkey is just a runt that starts because we don't have anyone else. We had to get our portal WRs from Mizzou and MSU. So sad. RBs are pedestrian at best who were backups to Kenny McIntosh. KM probably going day three in the draft. Bowers will have to actually play TE instead of hybrid WR with Washington gone. It sucks.

Is the Oline looking to move around a bunch this summer?

Yes. Hard to figure out with this bunch. Couldn't put the game away vs. Kentucky when they had the chance. Did you see what Tennessee did to Kentucky?

Are you looking for contributors anywhere from the portal?

Yes, but no one, at least not the bigger names, wants to play for us.

How was the front seven looking?

Not much of a rush. Got torched by our first string, unathletic, statuesque QB.

Are you happy with the DB depth? Scary. Having to replace two All-conference/american type starters. It sucks.

Are you changing the scheme much? On offense, will go from greatest OC in college football history to a guy that was fired by a lame duck coach.

Any impact injuries? No if you are talking about season killer ones or ones that will keep someone out for the fall camp, but that just means they'll come later, when they hurt the most.

Any new coaches you are concerned about? Already mentioned the OC. Nightmare.

Overall are you happy with the state of the team at the end of spring?

There is some promise. Maybe we'll be ready to compete for the conference in a year or two.

That was my question about Tennessee. If Milton continues like he did against Clemson Tennessee will be a handful again this year. This has to be good news for Vol fans.

I reckon they allow one per fan base.
We have Stephen, Aggy has Daniel, Alabama has Cajun and all her alters, UT has Serraneaux and her alters etc etc

Happier at QB ... Leary will be a better college QB than Levis. I might be happier at OL - if Kentucky lands one of the transfer OTs that are visiting. Front seven looks good. DBs are a question. WRs and TEs should improve.

RB will not. Rodriguez was special - may not see another like him at UK. Definitely happy with Cohen back.

Couldn’t tell jackshit because it was raining

Our RB room is really talented from what I saw, Battie is a real sleeper pick to win an award. Very explosive and has a lot of speed

I have read some dumb things on the rant, but this might be one of the dumbest. I know you have a crazy hatred of UGA, but try and get in touch with reality.

This UGA team will be better than the last two. Barring collosal injuries, UGA is going to three-peat. Just go ahead and get ready for it.

Only negative from UGA G Day Game is we may only have 1 QB and a coaches son listed as a QB after the portal closes in a couple of weeks. Carson Beck looked like the clear cut starter while BVG did not look comfortable and did not look good. Stockton looked very good but Its Becks job to lose I would bet....meaning BVG and Stockton may both wind up in the portal. I hope not of course but there is not much holding them in Athens if they ain't starting.

Are you happy with the QB situation?

Optimistic is probably a better way to phrase where I'm at on the QB situation. The early returns on Carson Beck are positive. He has serious arm talent and looks to be very comfortable back there going through progressions and getting the ball out on time, in rhythm, and with fantastic ball placement.

The biggest concern right now would be if Brock Vandagriff decides to transfer out or not. Luckily, we'll know in the next couple of weeks with the implementation of the transfer windows. If he does leave, the Dawgs would only have two scholarship QBs on the roster. Certainly wouldn't be ideal.

Do you have serious issues or concerns at any of the skill positions?

No truly serious issues or concerns, but things could always be better.

At WR, the Dawgs need an X receiver to step up due to the transfer of A.D. Mitchell. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint is serviceable, but not a threat that needs to be game-planned against. Maybe RaRa Thomas can be the guy, but he's still in the doghouse. If Arian Smith stays healthy, he's gonna be the guy that keeps defensive coordinators up at night.

At TE, Brock Bowers will be a dark horse Heisman candidate.

At RB, the Dawgs are good, but not elite. They've got a stable of bruisers, but not a true home-run guy. I do feel sorry for the opposing defenses getting the ball crammed down their throat in the late third and fourth quarters. This group has some dudes that no one wants to repeatedly tackle in an already-decided game.

Is the Oline lineup looking to move around a bunch this summer?

The OLine is set at 4 of the 5 spots. Just have to settle the competition at LT. I wouldn't be surprised for this group to go down as UGA's best OL in recent history.

Are you looking for contributors anywhere from the portal?

Probably not, but never say never. UGA is currently 4 over the 85, so some will need to transfer out before any more can come in.

How was the front seven looking?

Good, but not '21 Dawgs good, but better overall than the '22 group. The ILB room is the best in the nation and it's not close. OLB room is young and inexperienced, but full of dudes. The DL will be led by a really solid group of upperclassmen.

Are you happy with the DB depth?

Yes, this may be the best secondary Kirby has had at UGA. Too many dudes for too few spots.

Are you changing the scheme much?

Nope. Defensive coordinators stay the same, and Bobo is just using Monken's terminology and playbook. No real changes for the players.

Any impact injuries?

Nothing that is expected to stretch into the fall. Only minor surgeries to clean-up injuries.

Any new coaches you are concerned about?

Nope. The hate on Bobo is not grounded in reality.

Overall are you happy with the state of the team at the end of spring?

Absolutely. There is no reason why this team shouldn't compete for a third straight National Championship.

For the Rebs:

quote:

Are you happy with the QB situation?

Yes. We have three talented QBs, two of whom have ample experience.

quote:

Do you have serious issues or concerns at any of the skill positions?

Yes. Maybe we were spoiled by great WR play under Freeze and Luke, but a gamebreaker WR or TE (or two) could've meant the difference in a few games for the Rebs in both 2021 and 2022. Injuries have played a part too.

quote:

Is the Oline lineup looking to move around a bunch this summer?

Yes. We lost a couple of good OLmen but should replace them with talent. We have depth along the entire line, something we can thank Matt Luke for.

quote:

Are you looking for contributors anywhere from the portal?

Yes. We desperately need some depth at DL and LB, preferably dudes who are sure tacklers. Tackling was something we excelled at in 2021 but regressed last season. The pass rush also regressed.

quote:

How was the front seven looking?

Poor. See above.

quote:

Are you happy with the DB depth?

Our secondary should be a top half unit in the conference. They need to tackle better in space though. But it doesn't matter how good they are if we can't pressure the QB.

quote:

Are you changing the scheme much?

Yes. We brought in Pete Golding to man the defense. Offensively, we need to be less predictable (although our coordinators remain the same).

quote:

Any impact injuries?

Not that I am aware of. Fingers crossed/knock on wood.

quote:

Any new coaches you are concerned about?

I am hoping Pete Golding can work with our defense on the basics - being in the right place and tackling well.

quote:

Overall are you happy with the state of the team at the end of spring?

Yes. I think we will have a good season in 2023.

Unless you have a surefire returning starter I don't think you can/should be 'happy' with your QB situation. I'm not mad about it either though.

I think Bama has really dropped off at WR really since Waddle and Devonta left. Jameson and Metchie were great, but Jameson was a band-aid transfer.

quote:

Are you looking for contributors anywhere from the portal?

Probably corners and WR

quote:

How was the front seven looking?

Even with losing Anderson I think this will be the best Bama front in a while. We missed on some of those interior guys (Alfano) that we traditionally were churning into the NFL. We have a good but young group now

quote:

Are you happy with the DB depth?

Relying a lot on youth. Downs looks like hes the real deal, but losing Battle and Branch especially is big

quote:

Are you changing the scheme much?

The offense should fairly different. Most QBs couldn't do what BoB was asking Bryce to do the last two years, and they shouldn't have to in college.

quote:

Any impact injuries?

Some big names are out but I think we should be good by fall

quote:

Any new coaches you are concerned about?

Steele is memed around here, but he has called good defenses before and should only be around until Pruitt can take over

Hard not to be at this point, but we will see come fall

Yes. Lsu will either be the best team in the sec or they will be the 2nd best team in the sec. Lsu has a Heisman candidate returning at qb and the whole offense returns. Question marks with concern are secondary play and stopping the run. And hoping one of the transfers at the jack can atleast half replace ojulari with pass rushing ability

I'm not super optimistic about the state of our O-Line or our run game. Both might wind up being worse than last year.

D-Line looked good in the spring game but I honestly think that is more on poor O-Line play than anything.

Linebackers looked much better to me. The light clearly is coming on for Stone Blanton.

As long as Torrian Gray is coaching DBs I'm never going to be too concerned about the position.

We have arguably the best returning WR in the conference and solid enough guys after him.

Our entire season really just comes down to the offensive line doing just enough to be competent.

From watching Bama the last few years, I don't think "the basics" are really one of Pete's strong suits.
