I just want the Friday after Thanksgiving LSU game back. I enjoyed the heck out of those games.

If Tennessee got Kentucky and Vandy I would be thrilled. That would mean UT can pencil in 2 conference wins automatically every year. Even when Kentucky is good they still get their doors blown off. Kentuckys best team in history lost Huepel rebuilding team at UT. No one cares about Kentucky football except for Kentucky football.

I wouldn't mind having Arkansas as a permanent opponent, but that game sucked for travel purposes.

I see why they're doing three "permanent" opponents. Leaves you twelve other schools to play in six remaining games, with a nine game schedule. So home and away, every four years. Fine.

Just re-evaluate the "permanent" opponents every four years. Mix it up, based upon something close to a balanced schedule. Done and done.

Because this is college and not the pros

What makes college is close travel against long term foes. Media loses sight of this as they want the pro model (fewer teams and no local flavor or traditions)

It should be but no one fought hard enough in the past to keep it.

So Arkansas is very likely going to keep the Missouri game as permanent.

I looked forward to that game every year.
It needs to come back…at that time…

UGA would like to go to Kentucky every other year.

We've played Kentucky 76 times. The conference has been around about 90 years. I'd say there is some history there.

Lose Ole Miss and LSU in favor of Oklahoma? Meh. Not even A&M?

If TN has Bama and FL, then it's only right they should be thrown an easy team like KY.

Alabama: Auburn, Miss. State, Tennessee
Arkansas: Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas
Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, So. Carolina
Florida: Georgia, Kentucky, LSU
Georgia: Auburn, Florida, So. Carolina
Kentucky: Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
LSU: Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Ole Miss: LSU, Miss. State, Vanderbilt
Miss. State: Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Missouri: Arkansas, Oklahoma, So. Carolina
Oklahoma: Arkansas, Missouri, Texas
So. Carolina: Auburn, Georgia, Missouri
Tennessee: Alabama, Kentucky, Vanderbilt
Texas: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M
Texas A&M: LSU, Miss. State, Texas
Vanderbilt: Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee

If Texas has Oklahoma and Arkansas, then it's only right they should throw in an easy team like 8&4feit.

I said this early on, if the triangle does not hold

(Kentucky, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt)

Then ESPN is calling the shots, not SEC HQ.

I've been saying the same thing.

In football:
Tennessee vs Kentucky - 118 games
Tennessee vs Vanderbilt - 117 games
Tennessee vs Alabama - 105 games
Kentucky vs Vanderbilt - 95 games (Vandy is 2nd to only Tennessee in teams UK has played most frequently).

Tennessee vs Florida - 52 games (30 of those since the SEC went to Divisions). UT vs Florida is a contrived rivalry, established by division play. Tennessee's rivals are Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Alabama.

Kentucky has played (top 3 most played opponents):

UT 118 times
Vandy 95 times
Georgia 76 times

Georgia has played (top 4 most played opponents, you'll see why):

Auburn - 127 times
Georgia Tech - 116 times
Florida - 100 times
Vanderbilt - 82 times

If you went off of frequency, Georgia's top 3 would be Auburn, Florida and Vandy. Kentucky (76) and South Carolina (75) are pretty close behind.

I disagree. UGA should always be on our schedule and basically were doing for decades before even joining the SEC.

They’re the only SEC school we have any real deep history with prior to joining.

I'm just being selfish.

I'd rather visit Kentucky every other year over Nashville or Columbia South Carolina.

Exhibit A is the fact that apparently Kentucky and Tennessee are not currently scheduled to play every year under the new format. Apparently, Mississippi State, Georgia and someone else are supposed to be better games. Why is it then, that virtually non-stop trash talk from Tennessee fans appears in my twitter feed on an almost daily basis? If that's not the sign of a rivalry (notwithstanding UK-UT being the second longest continuous rivalry in the SEC), I don't know what is.

Has there been some sort of official release on the permanent opponents? So far all I've seen is "predictions".
