That’s not what you have to do unless you’re trying to post a gif that you created. If you’re trying to post a gif from a website or Google images, just copy the image link, come here and hit reply, hit “img”, paste the gif link, and hit submit.

I dont understand what you mean by having to use third party to post gif? The one above i googled. then "Copy Image Address" then pasted into "img" button. Super easy. As easy as it gets.

Im glad it doesnt auto quote everything. I am on a few forums where it does and it drives me crazy. Also adds way to much stuff when having convos. Its easy to click drag over what you want to quote and click one button.

Just hit reply under who you are replying to, their quote ought to appear and respond.
It’s amazing they can’t have a simple quote button under a person’s original post that automatically populates the text with one click. Even more, you can’t quote multiple posts at all with any ease. The emoticons are from the early 2000s as is this UI design.

While nice in theory, embedding is a double-edged sword.
Heavy media posts can bog down browsers, get wonky with mobile layouts, and cause issues with ad blockers.
Sometimes simplicity is better, and quite frankly this site is nowhere as difficult to use as OP suggested. He probably just doesn't know to use it efficiently, as TigerLunatik pointed out.
