IMO, he is a scumbag who is currently selling himself like a $2 hooker on Bourbon Street to whatever AD is willing to listen. However, my Auburn brethren seem to think that he is the savior that will take us to the promise land despite him never having done so before . . .
What says the SECr? Will you lose what little remaining respect you had for Auburn if we scrape the bottom of the barrel and hire Petrino

He will be bad PR. Give Auburn a couple good years before doing something stupid. Seems like he has a track record. I think Auburn can do better.

I don't give a shite how much of a scumbag he is, the dude is a hell of a coach and probably the best play caller that the SEC has seen in about 20 years. Now do I want him as our coach? Not sure on that, I personally don't give a shite but right now our fanbase is split and Petrino would only divide us worse as well as the players. I think Petrino gives too much culture and moral shock to Auburn right now that we just don't need.

Hiring petrino would be pretty hypocritical. I welcome it though, good luck recruiting against Alabama in the Bible Belt with a promiscuous adulterer

He is the sports figure I lament more than any other. I don't even have a problem with Saban. It is when the person has screwed over my team in the past that I want nothing to do with him.

Petrino is the best coach unemployed right now. He has lots of baggage but any university will be taking a risk but has plenty of upside especially recruiting...where is Neuheisel, his kids did well this year for UCLA

you guys should hire fran, i mean really, look at how he continued the success of jackie sherril and RC slocum at a&m. would be a great hire

Remind me again, what SEC program has been on probation most of the last 20 years and which has a perfect NCAA record the past 20 years?
While we are at it, remind me which program was just named the most unethical in college football history by a major publication and which didn't make the list?

Petrino is the absolute best Auburn can get right now. I don't think many Auburn fans realize how bad that situation is. Without his troubles, he wouldn't take the job. With his troubles, you can get one hell of a coach who will go into an NCAA investigation and into the same state as a dominant Alabama squad.
