UGA in 2012 was better than any team MSU or Arkansas have had in the modern era, and UGA has been a far more consistent winner as a program.

2011 Arkansas was pretty good. They belong in the same conversation as 2012 UGA.

Disagree. UGA had 11 NFL players starting on defense, Murray, Gurley, Mitchell, etc. I don't think Arky could have handled that personnel.

Both were top 5 teams in their given years, and both were talented. They were within 3 PPG of each other on both offense and defense.
They are in the same conversation.

Isn't that the whole point the OP was making? Everybody in the SEC has been also rans for about the last 7 years, outside of Alabama and Auburn for one of those years.
And...for the record....the vast majority of UGA fans would not support the OP as stated. We realize that we have not been up to par for awhile, which is why Richt was fired. But nobody has exactly been tearing up the SEC quite like Alabama. And, yes, the rest of the SEC (The West included) has been riding Alabama's coattails fro awhile now.
Much respect to Alabama and what they have done, but I am ready for a new sheriff to ride into to town.

Spoken like someone who's been irrelevant since the 80s. not too many universities in the SEC can boast playing for the SEC championship in football, having a men's and women's basketball final four experience, and playing for the college world series. but hey, I hear Jawjuh great in women's gymnastics.
