LSU is 3-6 against Sewanee. Tulane used to be good at football.

What? You mean teams that used to be bad can start being good, and programs that used to be good can start sucking? That's crazy talk.

Most of those Tulane wins were in the 30’s and 40’s before Auburn turned it around and started a football tradition with Coach Jordan. I didn’t realize that Tulane was in the SEC for a while. Interesting.

Lol.

LSU has always been better than aggy, so some things remain the same.

Kind of surprised they don't rejuvenate the program and try and latch on the the Big 12. They have all the ingredients to be successful.

Don't they have too much defense for the Big 12?

But yeah, while the op was trying to be a dick, Tulane is a solid program.

We’ve never lost to Tulane as an SEC team

Them and Georgia Tech. Tech was a legit SEC power for quite some time before a blood feud between Tech coach Bobby Dodd and Bear Bryant convinced them to leave the conference.

Tulane, from what I understand, left the SEC and wanted to set up a Southern "Ivy" conference, something Vanderbilt had tried to do in the 50's after getting blackballed from playing Ivy League schools (it seems Yale doesn't care for getting whipped 35-0 by a Southern school). Unfortunately for Tulane all the other schools in the proposed Magnolia Conference had lucrative deals going that prevented this.

Well, Tulane was an SEC team for 2 of those games...

But we have a losing record against Tulane as well, so I should just be quiet.

My concern would be if the Magnolia Conference picks up steam again, would Auburn leave the SEC. Schools like Bama who are consistently ranked in the 500s regarding academics is embarrassing.

Tulane doesn’t have enough support or fanbase to be invited to a P5. They survive by getting paid to be cannon fodder for P5 teams.

Is this all time or just when Tulane was in the SIAA, SoCon, and SEC?

It is a little misleading. Auburn does not have a winning record against Vanderbilt either.

Tulane was the team in LA early on
Tulane gave us the Sugar Bowl
Tulane gave Alabama their shot in the Rose Bowl when they declined for academic reasons

Like Sewanee, WWII hurt the private schools in the SEC

Tulane was SEC for 33 years, with 3 titles. The following teams have been SEC for 33 years or longer and do not have 3 titles:

Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Miss State

Arkansas and South Carolina will join this exclusive club in the not too distant future.

No dumbass, the Sugar Bowl was built for Tulane

Tulane Stadium was built in the 20's and held 35,000 then
Kept expanding till it hit 81,000 in the 50's

If you never watched a game there you missed some real history

Back in the day she was the queen of the southern stadiums
