Re-read the OP. Consecutive 10 win seasons is the topic. None of those listed were consecutive.

What's funnier?

Auburn not having back to back 10 win seasons?

Or the amount of time they have spent in this thread coming up with excuses, justifications, and pointless pokes at other teams who don't share the same affliction?

Mizzou also had 2007-2008, unless you don't count Bowl wins

Auburn is basically the college football program version of Nick Saban without the REC.

Clearly solid and can put together great seasons here and there, but nobody would ever confuse them for being the GOAT.

And yet they still won a title during that frame.

2012 had Carolina, Georgia and Florida all in the top10. 2013 had Missouri and Carolina in the top5

Those teams weren't a threat to win the MNC. The best team in the east should be a national title contender

What? Georgia would've played Notre Dame instead of Alabama and we finished #3 in BCS.

Why are you shocked by this?

Saban won 10+ games only twice in his first 12 years as a college HC before the REC funds started kicking in.

Oooh, thanks for the reminder. I haven’t sent my June check in yet.

Shocked that Auburn is missing from this list. Perhaps even more unbelievable is they've only done it once in their history 1988-1989. It's considerably easier to do now with a 12 game schedule.

And the entire conference is shocked UGA hasn't had a NC in almost 40 years. AU is feast or famine, always has been, just the nature of not being the state school surrounded by programs with more history.

Yea a 6 or 7 year stretch that 1 team was elite on a national level. From 90-10 the east routinely had 2 teams that were as good as anybody. After Urban no one stepped up

I was talking about how you said Florida and Georgia weren't a threat to win it all in 2012 when they most certainly were.

We'll see how it plays out, but what the conference is doing in baseball this year may be even more impressive.

Could have been, but they pitted so many SEC teams in cross brackets half will get knocked out next weekend. If they would have spread it out more even then it could have been amazing at Omaha.

Woe Eagle Shug

Jay Jacobs...we don't want a bunch of back to back 10 win seasons. We just want to win something big every now and then. Damn good thing Jay.

USF? They lost 4 games that year. Did I misunderstand you?

Actually, they rose to #2 (not #1) in the polls around mid-season after beating Auburn and West Virginia before collapsing at the end of the season.

And the Iowa bowl snafu on the last play from scimmage cost him as well for the 2004 season.

That “snafu” might be due to his cowardly telling his team on Christmas Day he was leaving them.

We are inconsistent and we know it. But we ride that roller coaster knowing an undefeated season or championship game is coming soon.

Auburn's been a weird program. Before Saban (late 90's) through the first half of Miles' run, they seemed to win the West every other year. They've won a NC and played for more during that stretch. But they just can't seem to string 2 really dominant years together, no matter what. If they'd have done that even a couple times, they'd have been viewed the same as LSU and Florida during that stretch.
