I don't know about rivalry, but I think my favorite LSU series is the one with Auburn. Lots of great games and usually pretty evenly matched.

Also if you are going to throw old rivalries out there like Tennessee and Bama you might as well include the Magnolia Bowl (LSU and Ole Miss)

Agreed.

The historical hate is strong between Ole Miss and LSU and is known to flare up from time to time.

On this board - yea maybe

IRL - LSU fans absolutely hate Bama. Bama hate goes on 24/7.

aTm is never part of the water cooler discussion unless it’s late November.

That’s the reality.

Auburn-Georgia is not on the same tier as the Iron Bowl.

The Iron Bowl stands alone at the top as far as SEC rivalries go. Only other rivalry in CFB that comes close is Michigan/Ohio State.

We don't have a rival. We really don't need a rival. Our rival is our immediate competition. A&M is not our rival.

and just slightly below the TSIO for those of us who are 40+.

I found myself hoping Auburn would win vs FSU in the BCS NCG and even in shooty hoops this year. I have never wished anything but irrelevance and sadness for UT

Hook is so shiny for Vol fans

Tier I rivalries
Alabama vs Tennessee
Auburn vs Georgia

Prior to Charlie Pell the Gators were bottom feeders like Kentucky

Kentucky-Florida was heating up pretty good the past 10-15 years, although UF’s dropped off some lately with the new coach.

LSU - Arkansas is a rivalry like a windshield and a fly.

We just pat Arkansas on his little snout and say good boy every now and then. That keeps him pretty well satisfied.

We need to bring the beer barrel back. If we could win a couple of times in a row it would be more interesting. Theres still hatred though

Yes, absolutely have to bring the barrel back. Also y’all underestimate how much we fricking hate Tennessee. So the rationale for SC-UGA works here too.

I guess the real question is who they asked. Or who made the choices. For a lot of Bama fans, the UT game is equal to the iron bowl. To a lot of Auburn fans, the UGA game is close to the iron bowl.

But to a huge portion of the country who are not SEC country, would say the Iron Bowl above everyone else. Probably the biggest rivalry in college football. I bet a lot of people who are not SEC related would not even know about the UT/UA rivalry. When nothing exciting happens in a rivalry, people forget

Auburn and Bama fans do not have anywhere near the spite for each other that USC and Clemson or OM/MSU have. You never see a Gamecock fan root for Clemson. Hell, I have never seen a UGA or UF fan root for the other. But you see Auburn and Bama fans for their state school on a regular basis. It may have historically been a great rivalry but the edges have been smoothed over lately

Alabama and Tennessee are rivals such that they are the only 2 schools with a rowing team and both row in the B12. If Alabama sponsored a tiddlywinks team it seems certain Vols would have one too.
