Duplantis ended up with 359 hits.
Mangum ended up with 383 hits.

Obviously it is possible that it will be broken but a player would have to average 96 hits per season for four years in order to do so.

Unlikely that it will happen as most players will go pro after Three years and very few stay the fourth year.

Yeah, that's impressive and will likely never be broken.

Not only that but what, four different teams participated in that streak? Florida, Bama, LSU and Auburn.

That'll likely never be done again unless the SEC itself does it.

Can anyone verify that Bama's defensive stats haven't already been beaten since then?

That's the one that used to get to them on the espnu chat. Today they would say it is "Bama and then everybody else", but when it was 7 in a row, and four different teams, just killed their "SEC bias" argument.

It's cool that 5 different programs have won a BCS and/or CFP title.
It's also cool that UG isn't included among those 5.

I'm not sure this counts as a record but Tommy Hodson was 1st team ALL-SEC QB four times. A 3-time winner is unlikely but if it did happen in today's game it's beyond a long shot that he would come back for a 4th try.

You mean teams have combined to score 146 points two other times?

2010: Auburn QB Cam Newton ran for 1,473 yards

Manziel rushed for 1410
Fitzgerald rushed for 1375 his sophomore year
(Both in 13 games)

Don’t think that’s totally untouchable

Especially now with teams possibly playing 15 games

agreed, with fast pace offenses and an extra game because of playoffs, that record will not last much longer

A&M has did this in both 1917 and 1919. One of the '17 wins was a 27-0 drubbing of LSU.

I don't see anyone beating Derrick Henry's single rushing record for a long time. I don't see a back getting that many carries in one season again. 2200 yards.
As the playoff gets bigger there will be more games to get more yards.

This one wont last long

It has very nearly been broken twice over an 8 year span

JFF had 1412 in 2010
Nicky Fitz had 1,385 in 2016

I will predict a Dan Mullen QB breaks it in the next 6 years.

Ole Miss punter Bill Smith had an 84.5 yard game average against Southern Miss 1984.
2 punts-SEC record 92 yards and 77 yards.
