SEC Network to have a new top announcing team this season

Both the SEC Network and the ACC Network are heading into the 2026 season with new top announcing teams, Front Office Sports reports.
Matt Schumacker and former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray will lead the SEC Network’s top booth this fall, while Wes Durham and former USC and Pitt quarterback Max Browne will call the ACC Network’s primetime games.

Last season, the network’s marquee SEC Saturday Night package was anchored by Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers, and Cole Cubelic — one of the longest-running commentary trios in the sport, together for nine consecutive seasons — and one that ranked 11th out of 25 teams in our 2025 CFB announcer rankings with readers calling them “the best group you’ve got” and noting they deserved a bigger national platform. Rodgers is departing that booth following his promotion to a larger role in ESPN’s college football coverage, with Chase Daniel replacing him on SEC Nation and taking on a Thursday night game assignment. The specifics of what Rodgers moves into have not been announced. Schumacker, meanwhile, spent last season calling games alongside Dustin Fox, with Murray part of a separate SEC Network lineup that also included Lowell Galindo and Lauren Sisler.

Tom Hart puts me to sleep. Jordan Rodger’s was great. The Cubiek was good analyst as well

It's always funny to me AU fans clowing on Murray as if he was sucked. On the contrary, he was absolutely lights out against AU every time he played them.
-2010 in JH: a VASTLY overmatched UGA that finished with a losing record against AU's best team of all time and Murray threw for nearly 300 yards and 3 TD/0 INT in a game that was within 4 points in the 4th quarter
-2011: 4 TD/0 INT in a 45-7 massacre
-2012 in JH: continuing the massacre theme, 3 TD/0 INT in a 38-0 rout on the plains
-2013 in JH: a UGA team with 5 losses against an AU team that would play for a natty. Murray led one of the more heroic comebacks in SEC history throwing for 415 yards and 2 TDs including storming back from a 3 TD deficit in the 4th quarter to take the lead
Actually now that I type it all out, I can easily see why AU fans have such a hate boner for the guy. He absolutely owned them his entire career.

I don’t know much about OL play so when he would get into the weeds with what’s happening as far as protection schemes, etc it was really quality stuff.

Rodgers was fine. Cubelic was good. Hart is a wannabe comedian who's not that funny. Every game became the sideshow to some sideline sideshow.

Rodgers was alright, but I like Murray he can hold his own. Chase Daniel will probably be solid, his NFLN and YouTube stuff is pretty good.

Wasn’t it Murray that got photographed mid stroke on some hot bitch during spring break? Feels like that should be a prerequisite for such a lofty job and he has the skins on the wall. Good for him.
