1. DeBoer gave little insight into the QB battle, but he emphasizes that the staff favors poise over anything.
This leans towards Mack starting over Keelon, unless Keelon gains some more poise this fall camp.
2. He acknowledged the lack of OL production in running situations and said that this group has embraced that and are okay with being challenged and being coached. This should lead to better play overall.
3. DeBoer, Hubbard, and Brown spoke highly of RCW saying hes put in a lot of work this offseason, and hes excited to be a team captain. I look for him to breakout.

Is this one of those situations where keelon is clearly going ot be the starter at some point in the year but he just isn't ready yet? Or does mack have the potential to actually be the #1 guy all year ?

With this being just his third year we dont really know how to read him fully, but what has been consistent is that he doesnt do QB changes mid season.
He never took Milroe out, and he never took Ty out.
Both of those guys deserved to come out in multiple games.
Ty was basically in a wheelchair at the end of last season and they refused to remove him.
All this to say, its safe to assume that if we see Mack week 1 then we will see him all year. They believe its better for continuity. Mack is a true game manager with elite arm strength and decent wheels for his size.
Id compare him to UGAs current QB honestly.
Keelon is probably a more pocket friendly Jayden Daniels.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. He said multiple times they have to earn any respect and they understand this so he isnt surprised everyone is sleeping on Bama.

I think they didn't want to pull Milroe because he was too fragile mentally, and they feared they couldn't get him back. (Think the opposite of Jake Coker.)
Not sure about Simpson, but I was disappointed that Mack hasn't made more of an impact. He's a prototypical elite QB physically and has been in the system, he just came in young. Maybe he was hurt last year too.
Keelon Russell was the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year, so you'd think he'd be relatively poised.
Assuming they can effectively run the checks and reads of the DeBoer/Grubb system, either guy should do well as long as the OL doesn't have him running for his life.
