Observations:

Big 6. Well yeah.

Most impressive: Arky with 4

Honorable mention: Mizz and USC with three after joining late.

The main data point that sticks out to me is UF. A terrible past decade still hasn't erased their eastern dominance.

The SECCG started the year of the SC/ Ark expansion, so SC had the same attempts for this stat as any of the original members. They've gone to the SECCG once in 28 seasons, Mizzou got there twice in our first 3 seasons in the conference. I think one is a little better than the other

Allow me to defend Florida a little bit (what the frick...) but they did win the division twice this decade. Also, UGA didn’t start winning the division until 2002 so we’re doing pretty well in terms of catching up after being all but dormant for 12 years during the Spurrier years.

Wouldn't Ole Miss have had another division championship but for the crazy arse 4 and 26 vs Arky?

Another interesting stat is skipping South Carolina in ‘10, the East has been won in streaks:

08’/‘09 Florida

‘11/‘12 Georgia

‘13/‘14 Missouri

‘15/‘16 Florida

‘17/‘18/‘19 Georgia

Theoretically yes, but in reality if they beat Arkansas they choke vs State

Still sucks we couldn't take advantage in 2011-2013. 11-2 each year with 0 division titles.

Co-division champions are lame. It’s just an excuse to put a trophy in the case. If you play for the conference title, that’s the real division champion.

Agree and disagree.
Agree when it comes to the 2-way tie. With the head-to-head, it's obvious who wins the division.

Disagree if we ever have to use the 3-way tiebreaker. When each team has beaten each other and it comes down how good your cross division opponent is (which you have zero control over), the co-champ is legit.

Damn it Skrayper. You’re right there.

2008 Big XII South:

Oklahoma 7-1
Texas 7-1
Texas Tech 7-1

#5 Texas beat #1 Oklahoma
#6 Texas Tech beat #1 Texas
#5 Oklahoma beat #2 Texas Tech

Highest BCS ranked team got berth in CCG which went to Oklahoma.

1998 Mississippi State: lost by 19 to 5-6 Oklahoma State, lost by 35 to 4-7 LSU, and still won the West.

Made the title game against Tennessee interesting too, had a lead in the middle of the 4th quarter before they gave up two TD's in like 30 seconds. Darn you, Peerless Price.

Kentucky has two conference champ years (one as a co-champ) prior to the existence of divisions. Division titles is actually an odd statistic imo.

Missouri won their two in a row after a 5–7 inaugural season, too. Two in their first three years deserves more credit than Mizzou typically gets.
