If you go by surrounding suburbs, Austin probably is easily number one on this list

New York isn't shrinking now.

I believe Louisiana saw a slight increase in 2024 (surprisingly)

Mississippi is losing population also. Brain drain, poor quality of life, and low paying jobs.

How much of that growth is from one way flights originating from the state of Texas courtesy of Abbott.

Growth isn't always a good thing... depends on where the growth is coming from

It may well be soon after the mayoral election.

If that dude gets elected NYC is fricked. There will be serious corporate exodus.

Who wants more traffic, long lines and rising property taxes?

20% growth in a ten year period is a lot of growth.

I think hurricanes played a role in Louisiana losing population. After Katrina New Orleans lost over 100,000+ ppl. After the cat 5 hurricane in lake Charles, a lot of people left. And after gustav, a lot of people left. Many are tired of rebuilding after hurricanes and the high insurance rates amongst other issues

Fayetteville is very scenic but most of the growth, things to do, shopping are 30 min drive north. Fayetteville is becoming a suburb.

Honestly think Starkville is not correct. It has seen steady growth for decades. Definitely grew more than 2% from 2010-20.
Not explosive growth but definitely more than 2%.

Not sure but maybe Illinois. I know Houston is supposed to surpass Chicago in population by the next census.

Missing the days when Auburn was a sleepy little college town not over-run by condos and a Target right in the middle of downtown.

I'm an Alabama fan, but it felt like Auburn's charm was the fact it was a much smaller town - the university seemed almost out of place, a huge campus surrounded by very little in the immediate vicinity.

It sort of feels like Auburn is losing it's charm as it grows, but if Auburn fans disagree then I'll acknowledge my opinion as the minority.

You're not wrong. Auburn is still nice, and it still revolves around the University, but it no longer feels like a small college town.

Went through Fayetteville for the first time on my way to Omaha. Beautiful town and clean. I can see why people move there.
