Notre Dame was right with auburn in the rankings. Are you saying auburn was also average?
You seem to be avoiding the point by trashing our schedule, but since it shouldn’t be demonstrably more difficult this season, not sure what the purpose is.
Auburn could play very average at times. UGA schedule is easy again this year, but the SECE should show some improvement with UT and UF. Essentially last year they had to beat an average ND team and got a rematch against AU after having their arse whipped three weeks earlier. At least this year they will play LSU in BR. It doesn't take away the fact that they will have to depend on the QB to have a chance at the Playoff, which is the original point of this post .

Last year, we had a balanced offense that could do damage by passing and running.
Now, You are expecting a big drop off at rb and no improvement with experience at qb, plus the added element of a dual threat off the bench. Right?

I’m not expecting anything, what I said is it will be hard to match what Chubb and Michel did last year, so Fromm will have to pick up his game. UGA fans know I am talking the truth but are reluctant to admit it. The stars aligned for them last year until the Tua pass, it was a very fragile run that wouldn’t have taken much to derail.

Probably Alabama
stars aligned? yeah, all luck how their average margin of victory was 20. georgia was good last year, sorry.

UGA ran the ball at a 70% clip last season, we all expect to be more balanced in 2018 with Fields being the ultimate wild card.

what I said is
You aren't saying anything.
You point to 1 play which decided the NCG. But ignore a decade's worth of data (and data in the NCG pointing to issues caused by Tua and Fromm that put the NCG in jeopardy for both teams). There is no substance to anything that you have said in this thread.
Deflect, defer, and change the criteria. That is the Auburn way when it comes to being presented with facts.
Ban bet. Own this thread. Any common sense that you have is admitting to yourself that you are full of shite, so you won't go through with it. I'm even giving you the field (top QB for passing TDs in conference even if not the Auburn QB).

What would have happed if UGA had lost the ND, but still won the SEC? Would they have picked Wisconsin, UA or OSU? What if they lost to UA in the SECCG instead of playing AU again? I would say the stars aligned until that last pass.

When it comes to rbs and qbs, chances are uga will have a better combo of those 2 spots than most teams they play, just like last year.
If the rbs don’t drop off a ton, the qb won’t need to improve a ton to balance it out.

UGA is about to learn you cannot replace 9 starters on defense and remain as good as last year.

With the offense UGA will possess this upcoming season the dawgs will be fine with a top 20 D compared to a top 5 last season.

So you think Tennessee will get a touchdown this year?

Why is it delusion?
Because y'all are expecting consistent production, player development, and success under Kirby when he's only been the HC for two years. That along with the increasing competitiveness of the east.

Good thing we return 5 starters instead of the 2 you bring up.

Mississippi State University will win the SEC championship in 2018
Posted on 4/23/18 at 12:47 pm to AuburnPanic40
It’s delusion because smart has only proven he can develop talent once and the east isn’t gonna suck as bad? That’s not a well reasoned point.

This guy is just that oracle dude from last year's alter.
Remember the one that almost exclusively talked shite about UGA and then just vanished after the MSU game.

So the argument over the space of way too many pages is that teams win with either a great running game or a great QB?
You know, if we were to get Urban Meyer and Nick Saban to post in this thread, they'd tell everyone involved that building a winning team is way, way, way more fricking complicated than deciding whether a strong running game trumps a great QB, or vice versa. The arguments here are going to fail to convince the other side for one basic reason -- they're entirely too simplistic, so they can't actually make an irrefutable point.

You will win with a great passing game and a good running game or a good running and great Defense. But the QB is the key to College Football success . School should be paying top dollars for a good QB Coach instead of millions on a flashy OC.
