If the conference expands any more or makes changes we should go after Kansas , UNC , Duke or other top basketball programs. We have had the best football conference hands down for a while .

North Carolina makes geographical, historical and cultural sense. Kansas does not under any circumstances. Duke's constituency doesn't really either, but I guess if we have to take them to get Carolina we do.

UNC and Duke are both wine and cheese fan bases, it doesnt mean more to them.

Conference is already too big, no more expansion

We have 9 teams currently listed as likely tournament-bound.

True, we only have a pair of three-seeds (Vandy and Alabama) as the highest, but that can change.

The SEC, as is, will never be able to maintain itself as a basketball power consistently. The conference fan bases as a whole value success in baseball much more than all other conferences. There are only so many NIL dollars to go around after football is funded. Not to mention what it cost to hire and keep top notch basketball coaches.

We had 11 of 16 teams, 2 of the final 4 teams last year, and the national champion. It was bound to regress back to the mean.

Exactly.

It would be almost impossible to duplicate or improve on last year. SEC won most OOC games and once in conf it washes out. Getting 11 in was as good as will ever happen.
