How is Alabama ranked ahead of LSU? None of your data makes sense for that.
ELO = 1/3
RPI = 1/3
Average of the 4 Polls = 1/3
ELO
LSU 4
Alabama 8
RPI
LSU 16
Alabama 7
Average of the 4 Polls
LSU 6.3
Alabama 8.0
Total
LSU = (4+16+6.3)/3 = 26.3/3 = 8.77
Alabama = (8+7+8)/3 = 23/3 = 7.67
The RPI is still a little bit out of whack right now, but it's getting better each week. I'd probably have LSU ahead of Alabama right now if I was voting, but it's close. It isn't a perfect formula and it can certainly be debated.. if you have some thoughts, let's hear them..
At the end of the day, it's better to look at the rankings as a group of teams to get in the right ballpark.
Top 3 - Arkansas, Georgia & Tennessee, in some order.
Next 4 - Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma & Texas in some order.
Next 3 - Ole Miss, Auburn & Vanderbilt in some order.
Last 6 - Florida, Kentucky, SC, MS, A&M & Missouri in some order.
It's still early. It will get clearer in the coming weeks.

Yeah we find out a lot about georgia and texas this weekend. I think ga is the best team in the league right now so this should be a fun series.
Georgia is playing some damn good baseball right now. It's hard to say if they are better than Tennessee or Arkansas or vice versa, but those are the 3 best teams imo. I'd add LSU as the 4th if they figure out their pitching rotations..
I think Texas would have a really hard time beating any of those 4 teams in a one game, winner take all with all pitching available.. We're gonna struggle against the better pitchers unless we pull some rabbits out of our hats..
I like our chances to win a regional this year, and I think we'll have a good chance to win a Super Regional as well, but in Omaha, if we are fortunate enough to make it that far, I think we'll be up shite creek without a paddle.. Too many days off and facing too many good pitchers, which our team has clearly struggled against so far..
This weekend will be interesting though.. Warren Nolan has Texas sweeping Georgia right now..
7-6 Friday
6-5 Saturday
8-2 Sunday
That isn't going to happen..
I think it'll be 2-1 one way or the other..

I just don't see Texas finishing on top of the SEC this year. I think we'll come in closer to 19-11 +/- 3 games.

Well.....yeah
Texas has been on a tear and the series is in Austin. I have no idea why you are so critical of Texas to this point. They have already exceeded expectations for the season.

This is taking objective to a whole new level.
Yeah no, my homer gear is kicking in now, Texas is comfortably in the top 4 and I see that bearing itself out.

That will change if Belyeau and Galvan are out. Max might have a serious injury.

Missouri doesn't count.

I'm not being critical.. I've said the same thing all season.
We are going to feast on average to below average pitchers.
We are going to struggle against above average to elite pitchers.
So far, it's been true.
I'm a die hard Texas grad who loves baseball, and I know the ball can bounce sideways really quick. I'm also going to call it like I see it.
I love Schloss and I love the direction we are headed. He is a great coach who gets a lot out of his team.. I think we have a good chance to make Omaha as well, which is absolutely amazing in Year 1. I just think we'll struggle if we are fortunate enough to get there..

This is what the haters will keep saying instead of just saying UGA has a really good team this year.

How has Texas been on a tear? Because we were expected to suck?
Most of the numbers still can't push us into the Top 3, and Texas will be doing good to steal one win from Georgia. We are a good team that has exceeded expectations, but I don't know about a "tear".
I just can't see LSU being better, I feel like we took our 2 games from them in a convincing enough manner. That's where Bro is reaching too far to be level-headed, imo.

regardless how far we go I like how it's trending. If we can finish top 5 in this league I'd say we're ahead of schedule. It's baseball. If you get hot at the right time who knows? It's going to be a fun ride.

Considering how tough this league is and where we were predicted to finish, if we end up with over 40 wins I'll be seriously impressed.

Real life is different as well. One of these things had Arkansas losing 2 of 3 to Vandy last weekend. I wouldn’t put much stock in these ratings, it’s just an educated guess instead of a regular guess….haha

NASTY schedule. The good news is, outside of LSU, Auburn and perhaps Ole Miss, you should be in the hunt.

That series is in Austin. Should be a good one. Would like to think the home team takes the series, but that's why we play the games.

Ludicrous thing to say. We get to go to Athens this year and if you're thinking that's going to be easy, you haven't watched enough baseball.

Watching Perfect Game slowly run out of reasons to keep us out of the top 3 has been pretty funny.

In this league, you hope for 1 win in the road and count your blessings for anything more. My mindset is always 1-2 (Mizzou this year being the exception)

Hopefully, we can finally beat uga in a big three men's sport this academic year....
