So make a conference 24 teams and have 3, 8 team divisions and play the rest 1x every 4 years or so.......I understand it is $ but it shoukd have stayed 12 at most.

I'm kinda hopin' we can get it to 20 teams and then all the members get pissed off and decide to break the conference up into two different conferences of ten teams each. Bestow the name "Southeastern Conference" to the group that winds up being composed of the original ten members prior to the first expansion.

At this point, our only hope for that would be two divisions of 10. Unfortunately there is little to no chance “our” division would be the pre-expansion group of 10.

North Carolina was/is a no brainer...

... would have expected Virginia, NC State, or Va Tech over Clemson.

I always figured it would be FSU and Clemson.
UNC would be a huge pull. Basketball, academics, whole new state. ACC would probably have to merge with the American. Then SEC would pick off FSU and possibly Virginia.

This conference is already gay as frick with 16, may as well bump this shite to 24 teams while we’re at it

Unc isn’t that surprising, I thought it’d be fsu unc. Those are the biggest brands left outside of notre dame. Would def slot ckemson fourth behind them tho

A year ago or more, we were hearing that Clemson and FSU were coming, that their lawsuit was going to make it happen. Case settled, and lo and behold, FSU and Clemson are still in the ACC.

If the Big Ten does its payday loan deal, their doors will be closed to expansion for 20 years, which will negate all this super conference BS.

The problem with going to back to 10 is the financial disadvantage the SEC would be in compared to the B1G and in this era of buying players, it's more important now than ever.
I'm not a huge fan of these mega conferences either but to keep up with the jones' you have to be a jones.

I'm guessing the 4 were FSU, Miami, Clemson and NC.

Might as well add all 4 and go to 20 teams.
