A@M has no say they are not even a real member. The sec knew about letting us in for 6 months and A@M found out on the last few days lol. Shows whose in charge already lol.

I'm sure his intelligence will be uploaded in the near future and a bidding war will ensue.

No argument here. Texas will be running the conference within a few years. A few years after that it will fall apart. I'm confident it won't exist after 10 years.

Maybe. More likely Texas will just control the Conference through their relationship with ESPN. Where the office sits is irrelevant in the short term. Will be interesting to see how it goes the first time Bama tries to push back hard on Texas. I do think there will be a power shift for certain. Texas is the biggest dog now and OU is their lackey. A&M likely joins as does Arkie. LSU is kind of caught in the middle, personally I think Texas does it's thing and destroys LSU and starts buying up your talent along with A&M and Oklahoma. The influx of 2 more power SEC schools going after Louisiana recruits and being able to buy them openly is going to be intersting to watch.

The Mississippi schools will likely try to hang on to the old guard while they can.

The problem is Texas has ESPN's vote and that's the one with the real power.

Agressor: Texas A&M has been in the SEC for now 10 years. You all beat Alabama in 2012, remember, you hired Jimbo who was part of 3 SEC West Titles and 2 SEC Championships and 1 BCS-NC at LSU from 2000 to 2006.

If anyone was going to do well in LA it would be Texas A&M. You all have gotten a really good player here and there that LSU wanted, yes, but nothing that has hurt LSU. I don't see Sark doing better than what Jimbo has done in LA, which is not much, given everyone in LA HS football knows Jimbo given he spent 7 years as our OC.

I legitimately hope this destroys the SEC. We warned them

I think this has more to do with money which includes, coaches salaries, facilities, NIL, huge television contracts which all comes together as a big business and totally getting away from amateur athletics called student athletes.
This is where we are and have to deal with the monster.

Personally I will watch less and as time goes less and less college athletics.

Soon high school players will be compensated and the high schools that have the most money will win championships.

It is coming

The SEC ties are obviously strong, but Texas, especially Houston and Dallas, are the primary destinations for young Louisiana professionals fleeing to greener pastures. Ties to Texas are not completely unreasonable.

It already is here, again SCOTUS 9-0 vs. NCAA with regards to NIL. In addition, go look at Judge Kavanaugh's opinion. It suggest that the business model of the NCAA would not be upheld if it were any business in the USA.

Now with "SEC" branding and the ability to go against LSU and SEC foes, luring elite talent to a city like Austin to a kid from New Orleans, as opposed to playing in Baton Rouge and College Station becomes that much more appealing.

Well to be honest, Austin is not what it use to me. The Local Politicians there were actually 1 of the major cities that actually did "Defund the Police" and crime there has gotten out of control. There was a mass shooting right off campus there this summer right along where all the Bars/Pubs/Music clubs are.

Again, unless Nick Saban is at Texas, Sark is not going to pull tons of kids from Louisiana.

Will Texas maybe get 1 every now and then, yes, but hey Aggie got a few here and there.

Kids from South Louisiana are hard to pull for anyone not named Nick Saban, it is one of the only few sub-cultures in the USA.

No LSU admin will call the gumps admin and say here is what we want so we can stop those upstarts. Gumps will agree. Then gumps and tigers talk to uga. Uga talks to Florida. Florida calls LSU to complain about something and we tell them to go f themselves. Then it gets settled like those founders want. They make some minor concession to the upstarts.

LOL. So you have cried for years that UT corruption brought down the Southwest Conference and is the cause for the demise of the Big 12, but now, not only do you think they will successfully manage this in the SEC but A&M will partner with UT in the corruption

What a dumbass

Quoting this for all of the tard A&M fans that think their opinion has ever or will ever be relevant.

lol, lol, lol - You are joking right??? What political connections does Texas have in the SEC??? Remember it doesn’t matter about there connections in Texas, or the United States for that matter, we’re talking about the SEC.

That is a stupid statement!

Bama is finally going to be someone's bitch. The old SEC power structure is about to be blown up.

You Texas turd burglars just don’t get it! We are southern, meaning we are family! We fight just like family does and we circle the wagons just like families do!

Oklahoma, A&M and Texas are big enough to run ANYTHING! If you were you, all three of you would still be in the big 12 where all three bolted from. So you need to understand the fact that y’all ain’t shite! We were kicking your arse so badly that you could do nothing but JOIN US, cause it you can’t beat em, join em!

So as much as LSU and Auburn might hate Bama, make no mistake about it Bama is family, the ugly red-stepchild of the family - lol, but they are still family before we allowed you to join our family. So don’t think we won’t defend Bama, we will, and don’t think Bama can’t defend themselves, they will.

Y’all’s perception and attitude when it comes to all things Texas is pathetic. No wonder they walked all over your teams and conferences for the last 80 years. Grow a set already.

Texas will do what they’re allowed to do. If you think that Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and LSU won’t be the ones running the show, then you haven’t been paying attention.

I’ve already said it, but it’s worth repeating. Those six schools, plus Ole Miss, State, Kentucky, and even Vanderbilt are the core of the SEC and always will be. If things ever got ugly and the new SWC division got too big for their britches, you really think those teams are going to turn on each other? Get real.

This is a telling picture of how history and experience makes you who you are. The OP from A&M is describing cliques, disputes, banding together to get their way. From the old SWC to the Big 12, this is how policy was enacted. Texas ruled the conference. OU and A&M were 1A and the rest of the schools followed along. It was cutthroat.

The SEC schools had differences but cooperated for the most part. Decisions were unanimous. One probably had a bit more influence, but there were five others right on their heels to check them.

Now the SEC has brought in five schools that operate differently. Until now, it hasn't mattered, but UT and OU is game changing in many ways. The OP has given us a glimpse that we may look back in 20 years and regret this 2 school expansion.

I feel like the next ten years will have a lot of “we told you so” in it. I hope not I like the SEC.
