I think the guy playing QB that led them to 3 total points probably contributed to that a bit more than the lights

I remember a few years ago one of our fans said the band playing poorly caused our football team to play bad

Yeah bro, that’s why

Cut those Okies some slack. They’re still getting used to having lights at all.

Alabama has the right to say this since they get the LeBron-share of calls.

It’s their birthright.

It probably has merit. I read a study about 15 or so years ago that talked about the factors that give teams "homefield advantage". One of the biggest factors isn't crowd noise, it's unfamiliarity. Things that are different stand out to people, makes them less comfortable etc.

Your brain focuses on the differences. Same way you go nose blind to stuff. Once the smell isn't different, your brain tunes it out so it can focus on other more important things.

This is why people most often overdose on drugs at home. When people are home in an environment they are familiar with, they do not feel as high because their brain isn't processing all the details. So they take more at home and then do too much.

So when teams go to a stadium for the first times, they are often more affected. Meanwhile teams that go to the same stadiums over and over they become familiar with them and things flow better.

True, but that doesn't mean he's wrong. The lights in Norman are in the corners, not along the sidelines, which can be a little weird for receiver's trying to pick up the ball from time to time. OU didn't get lights until the 90s, and so they stuck them in the easiest place to put them (having already built an upper deck on the west side).

Notre Dame is another stadium with a rather unique light setup in that they are both low and extend to the corners.

It is very odd looking. But I like the uniqueness of college stadiums.

He did not whine about it. It was in response to a question about what would be different from last uears game. He said playing there on the road last time got him, He still had 4 catches for 60 yards.

Weird light set up where the lights are on four corner poles. Should you suck it up and deal with it, Yeo.

Bernard is not the only one to say something and they are moving them in the offseason as part of a larger renovation,

I guess the other team had different lights?

Kinda like when losers blame the weather or temperature.

So you do not believe in the non-fan advantages of being a home team.
