its legit. It gets way too packed so now the over-flow is across the street at Tin Roof.

Why do I get the feeling a St. Louis 10 is a Atlanta/Nashville/New Orleans/Dallas 7?

Can't speak from experience, just a hunch.

Sucks they moved it from Nashville
Nashville's honestly the best set-up for it. I understand why coaches want to play in the domes in both Atlanta & New Orleans, as exposure to what they might see in the NCAAs, but Nashville is better than Atlanta & New Orleans.

St Louis? well, nothing says SEC basketball like a venue that will have conference teams from Cedar Falls Iowa, Peoria Illinois and Terre Haute Indiana playing in it the weekend before. we live in strange times...

I found some cheap hotels across the river in East St. Louis. I guess you can stay there and catch a quick cab ride to the arena.

I know it won't have that name for long since they were bought by TD Ameritrade.

Intradasting. I found this quick snippet:
quote:

TD Ameritrade President and CEO, Tim Hockey, stated they are no longer pursuing the name change and will instead sell the naming rights back. There are no name changes planned until 2018.[10]

Everything I've seen looks promising for this event. I like Nashville as well, but at least we aren't going back to the dark side of the basketball universe in Tampa. That was awful

The Westin is the best play if you can find it for a cost you're comfortable with. Very nice hotel just down Clark Street from Scottrade, with Tin Roof/Wheelhouse basically across the street to the West/South and Ballpark Village across the street to the East.

SEC hasn't moved it out of Nashville. They said SECT will be in Nashville 3 out of every 4 years IIRC, and they'll move it around for that 4th year. I would assume Houston or Dallas will get it for one year a few years from now.

I wish they would come back to Lexington every now and then. Back the 1980s and 1990s, the SEC was in Lexington often and it was a great atmosphere.

Yea Nashville is a great setup, both in the arena being an arena and the location.

I really wish they would play it at Philips in Atlanta, especially once everything in the Gulch is done and the place is booming with stuff in a few years plus the arena is totally redone, but Philips wouldn't be big enough for them.
