I've never visited the place.

Anyone with knowledge and experience, please share tips & advice with those of us planning to attend the Tourny. It's a ways off, but time to start making plans

look into union station, Sheraton, or Weston hotel. Yes these are nicer, but have best location. The most fun you'll have as far as bars and restaurants go would be to stay at the Hilton.

I could give you a massive lists as to things you should do, but let me know.

If you plan on staying downtown, safest area would be south of chestnut, for whatever reason, stay away from Washington ave and north.

St Louie is a looooong way from most SEC campuses. Probably no point in traveling that far

That would be awesome, thanks!

If it's like every other SEC basketball tournament, 75% of our time will be spent dodging Kentucky fans trying to suck up every available ticket. They can be a bit.....exuberant.

BBN will dominate attendance regardless.

You could put the SEC basketball tournament on Mars and UK fans would still sell it out.

Flipside, when they lose early you are guaranteed free entry to the rest of the tournament if you just stand around for 20 minutes and let one of them angrily give you their remaining tickets.

Correct. North St louis(never been there once in my life, and is way out of the way from everything) and East St Louis(only go through it when on my way to Chicago, and its also located in Illinois) are very dangerous.

I'm just looking forward to wearing MSU gear at a tournament and not being looked at with sympathy and pity. When you can tell that opposing fans genuinely feel sorry for your program... it hurts man, it hurts

You will be about 2 blocks from city hall, federal building, and police headquarters so you should be safe. City Hall used to have the cheapest parking but I believe that has changed. There are no restaurants within walking distance so eat close to where ever you are staying.

The Italian Hill is about 20 minutes away. Great Italian restaurants there.

I stay at The Chesire Inn on McCauseland and Skinker. Right next to Hwy 40 so it is easy to get to downtown.

There are a few, wheelhouse, tin roof, hard rock, and one other sea food place in union station.

Dont even try to get into wheelhouse to eat or drink tho. Its a madhouse all day and night, full of smokin' 10's.

Then America is incredibly safe. Spend countless nights in STL and have never had issue. Not a single one. Lived downtown for about 5 years.

Anyway, as already mentioned Union Station is pretty close by and it's a cool place to hang out before the game. Washington Ave is a couple blocks away for a little more high end restaurants and bars. If you are bringing kids then city museum is also close by and the kids would absolutely love it. The Arch grounds have recently been renovated and that's cool for anyone who has never seen it. The Children's aquarium is in Laclede's Landing which is also an area with restaurants/bars. Couple casinos you could stay at downtown as well.

There is tons to do. You'll have fun if you come.

Trash city. Would be better off sinking into the river.

Out West is okay, Soulard is a good trashy party but overall its iffy.

You can 100% get robbed/murdered anywhere east of West End.

Sucks they moved it from Nashville. Actually its retarded.
