Say what you want about DeBoer, but hes working his arse off instead of running.

He's dealing with the most spoiled fanbase in college football history right now. He had the perfect opportunity to run off back home up north where his style of coaching is more accepted.

Instead he chose to stay here and extend his time at the most famous college football campus there is.

He wants to be a part of our lore even though the audience is telling him hes not that guy. I respect that.

Coaches that run to easier paths are pussies. Roll Tide.

He left Washington to go to the one school that has a better chance of winnning a championship than anyone. How the hell did he not take the easier path?

Eta: By your logic, Lane Kiffin took the harder path too because the expectations are so high where he is now.

We and Bama are going through a similar situation. We'll both eventually rebound(SWIDT).

Why is the first response an LSU fans making this about Lane unless you think Lane is doing what I described?

Because it's an example of how bad his logic is.

To Michigan?

Not sure they would have taken DeBoer over Willingham.

And his style definitely isn't acceptable there, they want to run the ball.

Too bad he wasn’t working this hard during Rose Bowl prep. It’s obvious now he prioritized that time to flirt with Michigan and strong arm your AD into an extension. Then followed it up with a turd in the Rose Bowl.

This.

In all seriousness as a Tennessee fan Im happy yall extended him. Nothing about him intimidates me. It is funny that LSU fans and Auburn fans are trolling Bama rn though. They have never even beat Debeor

This isn't about Lane leaving Ole Miss or DeBoer leaving Washington.

Those are called promotions or upgrades. That doesn't count. There is no upgrade from Bama and only a few from LSU.

It sounds like you need some emotional therapy with Lane or that maybe youre scared Lane will run off when things get tough.

Of course it is. DeBoer leaving Washington is taking the easier route.

Which is what makes it the easy route.

He has 90% of his $87.5M contract guaranteed

Yeah, really tough decision to stay in case Bama decides to can him after another 2-3 years and he walks away with like $45M-$56M

Deboer wasnt getting a contract like that anywhere else

Bammers don't seem to understand that two things can be true.

DeBoer is a good coach.

Alabama got worked by his agent.

It's monopoly money. I feel like these contracts are just going to keep escalating like crazy. Everyone either is or is going to be overpaying for coaches.

You think it’s easy following Nick Saban, the GOAT college football coach? The expectations and work load are ridiculous. He could have gone 9-3, 8-4 most years at UW and kept his job.

DeBoer could have stayed at Washington for life after that run. Bama was talking about firing him after an opening season loss to Florida state.

Which is easier?

Same with Lane at Ole Miss. Lane could have pulled an Orgeron and kept his job at Ole Miss.

Hell be expected to win 10 games at LSU year one and a playoff game year 2

Well he was making like $4.2mil at Washington and you guys gave him a massive guaranteed contract and then doubled down on it, two years in.

He's getting paid nearly 3x as much, whether he gets fired or not.

Is it easier to get good players and win a championship at Washington or Alabama? You tell me.
