11 teams already have a conference loss after just 2 games.

The whole 18 games this year is going to be tough. Most likely every team will get a mauling or two like Tennessee did at Florida.
Your team is going to have a bad night and the other team will have a really good night and boom you get destroyed.
The old adage of one game at a time as never been more accurate than this year.

I don’t expect us to win on the road tonight. State has been playing really well.

LSU at #23 Ole Miss -9.5
i like OM in a close one at home but 9.5 is too many points here. I would take LSU against the spread

Agree, and I think the margin of error for what’s considered a bad night are very small.

I wish they'd spread the games out a little more and fill in every viewing window

A must win game. Although I kinda feel our season was over after losing a game we led by 18 in 2nd half at home. Lose this and there is no coming back from 0-3 in conference this year. There are not enough steal-able games to claw back from 0-3. 18 turnovers likely cost Porter his job and OU a playoff slot

Claw back to what? Win the conference? Sure, probably not.

Make the NCAA Tournament? You are still likely in the field even with a loss tonight. There are 15 more games in league and 10-12 of them are against NCAAT teams. You could lose the first 6 games in league play and still have a reasonable shot.

Have they confirmed that? I saw he was questionable yesterday. We have zero chance without him.

Claw back to 500. We will need to be 500 to get a playoff slot. All this talk about SEC getting 11 or so teams in is wrong. They will pick 8 teams.

Last year OU was first team out. Had way better metrics than teams picked ahead. But we finished 2 games below 500 in conf (so 1 more win makes us 500 and get in).

The committee likes to give extra slots to smaller schools for their cinderella potential. This always hurts big school bubble teams.

So if we lose today and go 0-3 in conf there is no path to 500. Win and we erase our home loss with a road win and can maybe get to 500 in conf end of year.

No chance UGA covers 6.5 at home against Oklahoma. I'll be happy with a win, period.

We got 8 teams in last year and this year we have 2 more teams in the league and the league's profile is 10x as good as it was last year. We will absolutely have at least 10 teams in the tournament.

You guys only had 4 Q1 wins all of last season. You already have 3 this season and it's only early January.

You have to realize that teams go on hot streaks just like shooters. There will be games that you win where you didn't expect to win. There is so much season left, no one should feel that they are out of the post season with a few losses in early January. The teams just need to work in improving. No one is playing their best basketball yet.

Several interesting games, no doubt.

Tennessee at Texas is one I'll be tracking. UT needs to show the Florida game was a fluke, and Texas is desperate for a win.

Also Bama at aTm. Clash in styles with rock fight vs. speed hoops.

And UK and MSU. If State can stay hot and put the Cats at 1-2, don't go near Rupp Rafters.

Florida at Arkansas also bears watching. Arkansas at 0-2 will be desperate, while Florida wants to keep the ball rolling. The frosh Fland will be tested by Florida's guards, as will their forwards. Florida is killing it on the boards. If Cal goes to 0-3, the wolves will be out.

And it’s on the road against an underrated State team. Without looking at the stats my guess is the home team has won by an overwhelming margin so far.

The league is just that good.

It looks like 10-6 in favor of the home team, which is not quite as dominant as I was expecting.

Teams that have lost home games (Torvik Rank)

#36 Texas (to #1 Auburn)
#44 Oklahoma (to #19 A&M)
#48 Vanderbilt (to #15 Miss St)
#49 Arkansas (to #28 Ole Miss)
#78 LSU (to #48 Vanderbilt)
#94 South Carolina (to #6 Alabama)

Got to find ways to grab wins in those games on the road vs the average teams and the good/not great ones.

LSU looked awful against us. But your coach plays a more close to the vest D first style that favors lower scoring games. So, yeah, 9.5 points may be a bit much. Those guys are good at setting spreads.
