Ole Miss rode Tim Elko to a national championship. Mississippi State rode Will Bednar to one. LSU rode Skenes and Tanks to one last year. It is a team sport, but one player can take it over.

They've got the production in them. This is a really weird offense to watch. We have no trouble putting the bat on the ball (only Kentucky has less strikeouts and it's by one strikeout) and will typically take the walks we're given, it's just hardly ever threatening. We really needed a stretch like the 7th inning where the balls just landed where the defense wasn't.
Really hard to tell how much of it is Thompson and how much of it is baseball being baseball.

The difference in being a .280 hitter one year and a .320 hitter the next is often just luck. It doesn’t take that many balls landing in just a hair different spot during the course of a season to make a big difference. Baseball, and golf, are by far the flukiest sports where just hitting the ball differently by thousandths of an inch can mean so much.

Nope. Just hate this conference of phonies and don’t need to suck up to any of them. It’s just a conference like any other. Doesn’t even have a decent TV deal compared to the B1G.
