You don't get to call time-out after a made basket by your team in college ball. The other team takes possession. Its not a dead ball.

If the ball was loose he could. But it wasn’t. Aberdeen had it before Sendek tried to call it.
Finally found video that shows the KY player was in possession of the ball before Sendek made his TO signal.

How many last-second, game-winning shots does this make for Kentucky this year? Seems like there have been a lot.

This is why favored sons are able to accomplish more.
It was even worse back in the day.

You can't call a timeout in that scenario once the Kentucky player has grabbed it. They should have fouled before Kentucky was able to get a shot up. End of story.

Refs didn't see him.
You cant tell for sure if the ball had already been inbounded, but he went after the wrong referee

Not my words. I just posted the article. Sorry it made your vagina bleed.
Orrr...do a little research, read the rule book, and quit your ignorant bitching. Sendek couldn't call TO there.

Sorry, rule of cool wins on this one.

I'm no basketball expert, just asking...
To call time out, doesn't there need to be a dead ball, or ball in your possession?
Looks like neither situation was available for Santa Clara, thus no TO granted.
Anyone?

His problem is he is trying to get the attention of the official who now has responsibility for the U.K. end of the court. You want that timeout, you signal toward the baseline official. But UK got the ball to in bounds so fast I don’t think it would have been granted anyway.
And you do it before Kentucky has possession of ball on the inbounds. He was seconds late.

Too bad you are too stupid understand this is a SPORTS DICUSSION FORUM. You know, people post sports related articles and opinons, and discussion follows.
You should be happy your HAVEN'T WON ANYTHING IN ANY SPORT IN A DECADE AND A HALF pitiful athletic programs are even in the news. Your butthurt over the article has been duly noted.

That's a whole lot of angry words trying to deflect and somehow justify your dumbfrick OP, instead of just admitting you had no idea wtf you were talking about.

Cool. The discussion is the opinion you posted in the OP is incorrect by NCAA rules.
This video shows it pretty clearly. Herb should’ve called for the TO before Kentucky had the ball. That’s on him at this point.

If the ball has been inbound, he can't call a TO

He can’t call a time out once Aberdeen grabs the ball. Huge credit to Aberdeen for grabbing it quick and tossing it in to the front of Oweh and not making him turn. Even miracles need alert heads up play.

The little "retard eyes I don't understand" emoji ?
You do not understand.
The scoring team is not entitled to a timeout. Period.
As soon as the defensive team grabs the ball ? No time out is allowed. I often wonder why teams are not schooled to grab that ball immediately from the net. As Kentucky did.

Dr. Jekyll ...
... you can have an opinion that 2+2=5. But nobody has to respect your opinion, and you should be mocked and humiliated and shamed for it. Because it's just fricking wrong.
When I don't know the inner workings of a topic, I typically just keep my mouth shut. Been weird like that my entire life. Maybe you could give that approach a try.
