He got them back to being respectable quickly but yes, Arky fans were foolish to believe he’d ever have them competing for the SEC. I wouldn’t call him a snake oil salesman since everyone could pretty much see what he is outside of delusional hog fans

Basically all we wanted from him.

He's a victim of his own success from last year.

Just need him to get it right for the next coach to do more

So you hired a guy that you knew would be mediocre at best to get you to mediocre so a good coach could then get you to good? Why not just hire a good coach to start with?

That is still no excuse to losing them at home. Fans are tired of losing to G5 schools at home. Arkansas fans thought they were past that in year three but Sam like the Missouri State, Alabama, and Liberty games didn't prepare his team especially offensively in the first halfs.

Missouri State 17-0 before scoring 14 points late in the second quarter.

Alabama 28-0 before Arkansas scores a TD late in the second quarter.

Liberty 21-0 before a FG is made with a few seconds left before halftime. Just awful.

He peaked too early, their program was in shambles.
Last year was their only bowl game since '16 season. Had he gone 7-5 last year, expectations would have been lower. They are what they are 6/7 win team, not a top 10 team like the AP had them.

Now no excuse for losing the A&M game.

I said before the season that Ark was going to take a big step back this year. The outrage from the Arky fans

When you consider just how flatlined Chad Morris had that program, 17-15 isn't bad.

Because Arkansas is dysfunctional with weak arse leadership.

Toss out that season and Pittman is 14-8 in Fayetteville, which is respectable. If they can upset one or both of LSU or Ole Miss and have a shot at 8 wins, all this teeth gnashing will be a thing of the past.

What’s with Ark and fat coaches? I guess because they rep the fanbase and community.

Speaking of fat coaches that can’t win at ark but can else where, I see that Bielema is doing well

After they whip LSU the Liberty loss will be forgiven.

2020 def makes his overall record misleading.

That said, he’s completely reliant on coordinators to compete… he brings zero to the table schematically…. And right now both coordinators (esp dc) aren’t living up to expectations.

Next year will be critical for Pittman.

I’m not sure losing to TN by 3, and to LSU by 1 in OT actually defines getting the shite kicked out of us, but you do you.

They need Gus. I'm serious. He doesn't like recruiting enough to go against Kirby/Dabo, but his name is good enough to get good 3* players.

Fair enough. I can relate to that.

We hired a guy who could repair the damage Bert and Morris did with the high-schools we recruit, and repair the locker room culture.

This sort of thig is actually pretty common. It's the equivalent of DHing a contact hitter in to get on base ahead of your best HR guy.

Just needed to take one look at his JC Penney suit choice to know he wouldn't do anything good
