Well, some people do care what it looks like. Almost the exact same scenario happened to me, and I ended up on the garage floor after trying to retrieve Christmas decorations from the attic. I am pretty good at flying jets, but apparently my drywall skills are lacking. I patched up the hole, but it didn’t turn out great. When my wife saw it, she said I must have drinking when I fixed because it looked terrible. I had been, but that is not why it sucked. It sucked because I don’t have that skill set. I called a dude, and he fixed it properly.

What Darth said is absolutely the truth! I am an old fart now, and I am sure things have changed, but mail call was the highlight of every week. It was so great to get word of how everything is going at home. The problem is now is I have to crawl up in the attic and go through all of my war crap to pull out the letters that would embarrass my children and my wife??

Haven’t read through this whole thread yet, but I did have to comment on your “aviation” remark. I can’t speak for everyone, but I can tell you for a fact if you were in Iraq in 06-07 in a Blackhawk, you got shot at every damn day. Multiple helicopters shot down, and 6 dead by the end of the tour. We were getting the shite kicked out of us until the “surge” happened. Still no reason to act like a raging a-hole. This guy has other issues.
