According to this list of the worst draft mistakes of the past 15 years published in 2011, Saban players are pretty prominent on this list.

I only saw two players on the link on your list. Pretty shallow analysis.

Marcus Spears - plays every weekend for the Cowboys, 8yrs in the league probably better than average...

OP clearly realizes that Mark Ingram is currently the Saint's leading rusher, right?

Looking at the list, it looks more like a LSU first round draft bust problem, not a Saban problem..

Coach Saban coaches them up OVER their max potential and makes them rich. Who YOU want to play for?

Boy go look how Les has coached up all those 5 stars he's gotten over the years. Sheppard from texas is the most overrated player to come out on rivals in 15 years. kids a complete bust to go along with craig loston who is also a complete bust. where is chris davenport these days? Denagelo Benton? Saban has produced superior talent compared to les. Oh and he's had wayyy more people pan out in the NFL compared to les

So what's the point of this thread? It's like saying a Heisman winner won't play out in the Pros. Big deal. They were good in college and that's what matters.

We're in the SEC Rant discussing an SEC coach and a lot of former SEC players. What's not to understand?

Question for the OP.

Assuming your theory is correct, wouldn't Saban's ability to take players that are actually not as good as others believe and play for 4 national titles (winning at least 3) in the 11 seasons he's coached in the SEC make him an even greater coach than he already appears to be?

Charles Rogers didn't sign with MSU until February 2000. Saban had been at LSU for over 3 months by then. Most of the other ones you listed are some combination of Saban/Miles or Saban/Shula. Don't let any of this hinder your flame attempt.

Rolando McClain

Showed promise but got to get it together off the field and pretty quick.

Mark Ingram

I believe Ingram could flourish with the right team. Still young, has time to improve.

Dre Kirkpatrick

Dre is a rookie and has been injured much of the year.

Either way, look at the sheer number of players Saban has put there. More than most coaches. And how is it his fault if a player flames out in the NFL? All he can do is prepare them for the next level. Just like out of all the high school players, very few are worthy of a scholarship and even those that are, fewer still become stars at the collegiate level. Few college players ever make it to the next level and only a small percentage of those that do with turn into stars.

This thread is a very weak attempt at a flame and you're just another troll

Exactly. Saban gets them into the pros, into the first round of the draft more times than not. What they do once they get to the NFL isn't on him.

how is a player that has been in the NFL for less than a season and is hurt considered a bust?

The fact that you should be looking at is the sheer amount of 1st round talent Saban produces. Some coaches BS you when say they can get you to the NFL...when Saban says it, its true.

The level of NFL talent being produced out of Alabama right now is only rivaled by the early 2000's Miami teams.

In the last 4 drafts, Bama has produced 11 1st round picks. Bama will also add at least 3 this draft to that.

14 NFL 1st rounders in 5 years.

ABSOLUTELY SICK.

It's like if I find a 7, take her out get her hair did, buy her some new clothes and make up, and a tanning membership and all of the sudden she's a 9, when I break up with her and she starts smoking crack because she's so heartbroken and turns into a 6 it's not my problem imo and I shouldn't be blamed for it.

If someone is posting a theory that both LSU and Bama fans are agreeing is ludicrous, then that poster must be pretty damn dumb.
