Jimmy Sexton is Saban's agent. Sexton gets his coaches raises.

Saban will never go back to the NFL - the headsets only came in Adult sizes.

Also, Tony Grossi says there's no chance that Saban will ever work with Lombardi again.

quote:

And all of this happened after Cleveland was thrown into a frenzy by a report in the Boston Globe that speculated on Nick Saban and Mike Lombardi teaming up as CEO Joe Banner’s dream team to replace Shurmur and GM Tom Heckert. It marked the fourth different national media outlet to link the smooth-talking Lombardi to the Browns. The twist Sunday morning was having Lombardi somehow being the deal-maker to persuade Saban to leave Alabama.

“Let me tell you something,” said a league source with knowledge of both men. “Nick Saban wouldn’t work with Mike Lombardi in a thousand years.”

They can approach him all they like but he isn't making the same mistake again.

I'd be disappointed, obviously, but I'd have no issue with him moving to the NFL. Him moving to another college team would bother me.

I guess I'd be ok with Smart (not that I think this is likely to happen). I can't think of one coach out there that I'd be desperate to get to be honest.

Don't underestimate Saban's ego and love of money. If not Cleveland, then maybe Texas.

The best reason I have for Saban to stay is because it infuriates so many corn dog fans.

I'm still laughing at how Miles and Arkansas just bent LSU over for more money.

The best reason you have to want Saban to stay is it pisses off LSU fans....

Gumpie..maybe his 2 Natty's would be a better start. If you were trying to use wit, leave that to the non-Gumps.

Miles was making less than Mack Brown and Kirk Ferentz. he deserved a raise.

that's a silly, petty reason, you should want him to stay because you enjoy your team's success

and he was outclassed in the NFL as a head coach - he had the setup he wanted at the Dolphins (he was particular about personnel and control and passed on jobs before the Dolphins)... but he just didn't make it work and returned to college when he realized he was out of his depth as a NFL head coach.
