You linked to a blog. Not exactly responsible journalism like the WSJ, but I read it nonetheless.

The article is factually inaccurate, implying that Wilbur Jackson was recruited and signed after the 1970 loss to Southern Cal. That is not true. He was recruited and signed to a scholarship at the end of his senior year in high school (fall of 1969). He enrolled at UA in the fall of 1970, the same season that UA played Southern Cal at Legion Field. I do understand that a lot of posters on the rant are young, but you need to understand that at the time that Wilbur Jackson signed with UA, all freshmen were ineligible. It was just a fact of life in those days. It's a common misconception that Sam "Bam" Cunningham caused Bryant and Alabama to recruit black players, but it's simply not the truth. I do believe, however, that Cunningham's performance on the field caused a lot of Alabama fans to soften their stance on black players, because they saw the way a black player could dominate a game and wanted that for Alabama.

So not only is your link inaccurate, so is your comment about Bear adding black players after USC crushed them in the 70's at home. The Alabama team was already integrated when they took the field against Southern Cal in 1970. I'm sure someone will probably ask for a link and I will tell you to use Google. It's pretty easy to find. The link I used was to my own memory.

Now. In honor of my first post on the rant: Which SEC team was the last to integrate? Think purple and bright yellow. Or use Google. It's easy to find.
