It was reported Wednesday that President Trump is to create a commission that will examine college sports and its inherent issues such as NIL, the transfer portal, conference alignment, and Title IX.
Sources told the Athletic on Wednesday night that Saban is expected to be named co-chair; no additional information on other potential co-chairs or commission members has been released at this time.

I knew the REC was powerful, but I didn't realize Donald Trump had been a member this whole time.

At least he didn’t welch on a ban bet.

So in your wildest dreams who would you like to see as co-chair? Pick Someone who has had their pulse on college football during the most recent NIL and transfer upheaval, understands what the NFL wants, has agreed that players should receive some type of revenue, has the respect of coaches and presidents across the country, and also realizes what we have is completely fricked.
I'm sure there are a few that come to mind so hopefully they are ALL on the commission. NS will just be 1 of 2 at the chair.

I always LOL when someone on here makes that argument. I am not a Saban fan by any means but he is 73 years old. I retired at 56. I sure as hell was not going to continue working until I was 73. F that.
Life as a head coach, especially some place like 'bama is a 10 to 12 hour day during the off season and probably 15+ during the season. Just be relieved he is still not coaching.

It was really cool when he attended the LSU-Alabama game in 2019 at BDS.

Kim Mulkey would be perfect for the role, and Trump would like her conservative values.

Since the playing field is now level, do you expect Auburn to be competitive at some point this century?

Only matters insofar as a commission report ends up influencing a congressional law. An EO based on the commission’s findings will largely just further complicate things.
Really just need the House settlement to go through to start establishing some baseline normalcy.

So who will be on the commission? CEOs of Johnson and Johnson and Kimberly Clark, Condaleeza Rice, CFO of FanDuel, and a hobo that got lost in the hobby? Or
Someone that knows something about football.
Someone that knows something about football.

I’m waiting for the co-Chair to be Vince McMahon or The Rock

Dude. Put some salve on that irritated vagina. Geeze.
As for the subject at hand, and I say this as a lifelong Auburn fan, I think this an outstanding decision. Nick Saban is the most respected name in the world of college football. If anyone can bring some sanity into NIL and the transfer portal, it’s him. He can literally save college football for us fans. I 100% support him and hope he can bring the changes needed.

Oh brother…
Maybe Trump should get his mind off of trying to rename international bodies of water, screwing with universities and cancer research, his $ multimillion Dear Leader taxpayer funded military birthday parade, and his other performance art exhibitions (like this new presidential college football commission) and focus on what he was elected to do…
The wars in Gaza and Ukraine have not ended yet, my grocery prices have not gone down, and my taxes have not been lowered yet either…
I’m a 2A supporting libertarian leaning moderate independent, not a Democrat. I don’t like the government enough to join it…
And seriously, Saban, who I like, and who is currently considered a popular guy, might want to look at other people (like Elon) who got tied up with Trump then suddenly became a whole lot less publicly popular…Just my 2 cents… Free speech day is every day here at the Rant, right?
