I am.

Good job Saban. To be perfectly honest I don’t care whether they go to the WH or not but I love the coach pulling the ‘when you’re in my house you abide by my rules- no questions asked’ mentality.

I'm not against Saban making his players go. I'm simply saying I wouldn't force players to go if it was my call.

I am sure some want to and some don't, but it's a team. They all go or none go.

THIS is how u lead. How u get respect. He is not consulting with the president, the AD, any compliance office. This is HIS team, HIS program and HE will make the call.

Some of these guys are going to be leaders in business or other professions in the real world and Saban has shown them a valuable lesson. Have a conviction, stick to it, be a team player and be the decision maker. Never compromise your decision.

The problem with America right now is everyone is afraid to make a decision. Especially a controversial one. Nick Saban is the voice of Alabama football. The lone voice and he don't waver in what he believes. We need more like him. If u don't like it u can leave.

Yes, u have the right to express your opinion and your beliefs....Nick also has the right to say who is a part of his program.

Exactly. There isn't much to respect about trump, but he won't be there much longer and the tarnish he has put on the office will be wiped away quickly.

It is an experience and a trip worth making. You don't have to respect the current occupant to go and have the experience.

if you call 7 years " not much longer".
Hell, I personally don't like the guy either, BUT he's in the process of building our economy into the juggernaut it was after WW 2. Fixing terrible treaties and trade agreements, cutting bureaucracy and streamlining government, and reestablishing the US as the alpha dog in world affairs.
I have no desire to pal around with him or even drink a beer with him..don't like his personality...but it's obvious to me that he's busy digging us out of years of governmental mismanagement and weak resolve.

This was an article that said 2018 should be more of the same unless...then went on to list issues that could cause a disruption in the economy. Ironically, it now looks like they article was prophetic.

"THERE ARE CLOUDS ON THE LONG-TERM HORIZON

In any year, there’s about a 20 percent chance of recession—and recessions are hard, most impossible, to predict. So what could go wrong? The Fed could be spooked by inflation and lift interest rates more rapidly than anticipated, slowing the economy and unsettling financial markets. We might see a confidence-shattering drop in stock price—or see a big bank get into trouble and learn that all the seat belts and air bags we added to the financial system were inadequate. Something could go awry overseas—in China, perhaps. Trump’s tough talk on trade could disrupt global supply chains or frighten away business investment."

I am of the opinion that if the economy is holding strong as it has been trending since 2013 then Trump stands a decent chance of being elected again. Our country has a long history of only unseating sitting Presidents when the economy is shaky. However, most reasonable (read non-nationalist) economist can see the clear and present danger of many of his policies to our economy.

As for Saban, I agree with him 100%. I wish he'd retire, but you have to respect the way he runs his business.

And I bet you're one of those who thinks "shut up and dribble" is a racist statement.

And yes, I am. You're an athlete who represents an organization and a city. And not everyone you represent thinks the same way you do. So shut your mouth and keep your opinions to yourself

I've watched Trump "negotiate" everything from foreign policy to cabinet appointments since he's been calling the shots, and I'm pretty sure that he knows what he's doing....and the public doesn't. His erratic tweets and comments to the press, along with all the other unconventional things that he's doing, scare and confuse many...including our adversaries. Bottomline, I'll take the consummate negotiator over the head bowing, weak kneed, apologists we've had representing us.

I actually believe an singer should sing, actors should act, basketball players, football players and baseball players should play, etc. If I wanted their personal opinions on anything else I would ask. They can express their opinions if they want to, but they should also understand I can stop listening to their music, watching their movies and attending their sporting events if I disagree strongly enough with their pinions. If enough people do that, then they will be left without a chosen vocation and have to go work for a living.

Do people not realize how easy it is to not pay attention to the opinions of athletes?

Saban is a leader and leaders lead, it is the right thing to do. You go visit the White House no matter who is the President. I would have gone for Obama and I would not support any of his policies. Since everyone is being political, I voted for Trump and would again, I do not like him and would much rather have a moral President like Mike Pence would be. But my favorite thing about Trump is he appointed a very strong conservative SC Justice, and I love the amount of angst, grief, sorrow, anger, and total over reactions that he caused Hilary, her supporters, and the other liberals in this country with whom I totally disagree with on almost every issue.

Trump could not negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag.

He has absolutely no understanding of policy, trade agreements, or anything of the like. He barely reads anything. He has the attention span of a nat. He has no clue what he is doing and flys by the seat of his pants changing positions daily because he does not really understand anything because he is either too lazy or dumb to dive into policy specifics and learn (probably both).

He has passed zero major legislation except for tax cuts for the corps.

The vast majority of his "deregulation" is related to EPA standards and are currently either held up in court or have been withdrawn. All of his deregulation has been comprised of rescinding various executive orders from the previous administration. As noted, the vast majority is currently stalled in court or he has withdrawn the request (rather his aides have as I doubt he has any idea whatsoever that about 80% of the executive orders he has signed relating to deregulation have not gone into effect). These are facts. There is a website that tracks every single one of his roll-back of regulations. Every single one and gives the current status.

The economy has continued on the exact same trajectory it was on when it took office. He gets zero credit or blame there as he has enacted zero legislation to alter the course one way or the other.

The only accomplishment he has so far that has had any real impact are the tax cuts and budget. Combined, the two have increased stock prices and caused debt to start growing faster than it was growing under Obama when Trump took office. Deficits had dropped back to the $500 billion range when Obama left and are now back over a trillion a year with Trump.

The above is reality.

Fine gnat.

What people do when they can respond to the substance of a message, attack the messenger.

Actually that is a trump hallmark.
