The funny part is the people who disagree tend to make it a bigger story.

I was the same way about Obama (I'm no fan of Trump as a person either).

If I ever got the chance to meet ANY president - particularly the sitting president - I'd be there in a heartbeat with a 100% sincere "It's wonderful to meet you, Mr. President."

They're the leader of our country and one of the loneliest but most important jobs on the planet. Ever if you think they're piss-poor at the job, the simple fact that they're the one trying to do it warrants respect.

Here is where I disagree. Trump is not trying to do the job as a president. He is lazy and does not try to understand much of anything. It is just a game and contest to him. I can't respect someone who doesn't try. Especially someone in a position so important who really just won't put forth any effort on anything that matters (like policy and not just himself).

For another example in the other direction, I thought GWB did a terrible job. Getting us in wars, screwing up the economy, some really dumb tax cuts, etc. However, I respect him and would both shake his had and enjoy sitting down to talk with him. Even though he screwed up a lot, his heart was in the right place, he tried hard, and loved his country.

Trump is not GWB. He is a conman, liar and absolutely terrible businessman that was a punch line and a joke for running every business he ever had into the ground until he found reality tv and branded himself as something he never was.

"Moral President like Mike Pence."

I guess he's moral in a not as immoral as Trump kind of way.

That you are paying respects to the office, not the individual holding it.

that was exactly my point. Saban, as someone with different opinions than the President, is still respecting the office and NOT making it about him by taking the team there.

By going, the statement is to respect the office. By NOT going, the statement is "i don't agree so we aren't going"

When you're part of a team and an organization, your political opinions mean jack shite. If they don't like it, go to some other program that will win a national championship and not make them go. Pretty simple

You play ball as a team, you win as a team, you lose as a team and by God you'll accept the honors as a team.

They will put on their coats and ties and they will accept this honor just like every Alabama championship team has done before them. They are representing UA and they will conduct themselves accordingly.

I'm sorry but you're an idiot.

Trump works hard. One of the reasons he got elected by actually working multiple rallies per day while others sat at home.

You're probably one of those that claimed tax reform would never ever get passed.

Gonna be a long 6 more years for you, champ.

I can not believe the amount of people on this board that get upset when Trump is called an idiot. He’s a fricking retard. You don’t have to be a liberal to admit that

"Vacation"

Do you understand the President can work outside the office?

Did you know there's a desk and phone on AF1?

Did you know there's a desk and phone at Mar-a-lago?

Mind blowing shite I know

Makes sense. Your left wing, "big government" ideology is obviously in line with your wallet!
