he was an assistant on the staff. it's not like they expected him to stay on the staff forever. he and saban are not even comparable

Do you even read? Did I say they'll boo him for leaving or simply because they're simple-minded and will just boo him because he's the opposing coach Saturday?

you're right... most students couldn't name LSU's current DC, much less the one from 10 years ago...

Why would they even boo Saban? Saban brought the program back from the dead. It's like a heart attack victim slapping his paramedic after being resuscitated because the paramedic then resuscitated the guy's enemy too.

You serious? I respect Saban and what he did for us immensely but I can understand people booing the frick out of him.

Dude is our main rival in recruiting and beat the piss out of us in a national championship game. Also coast us a shot at a title last year.

To say it is foolish for some LSU fans to boo him makes zero sense.

You can't expect fans to "love" him when he's the main competition, just not possible for the human condition

It's like swimming in a sea of ignorance, irrationality and an unbelievable hubris/provincial attitude down here (for those who went to LSU, that means you are so isolated that you mistakenly think you are important to the rest of the world).

BUT... I wonder ... Florida has pretty rabid fans, yet I've never heard them go on and on, ad nauseum, for years and years about Spurrier going to South Carolina... etc.

I think what REALLY gets to my LSU friends is when they ask (they constantly do ask) what does the Alabama fan base think about LSU. I answer truthfully... "they don't, except maybe one week a year." God, the reaction is usually beyond anger and incredulous disbelief. I try to explain, but... see above about hubris etc.

It makes sense to boo him at a game between the two teams. It would make absolutely no sense to boo him at a tribute to the 2003 national championship team, which is what we were talking about.

a good classy sentiment that you would expect from a coach

he was part of that team and everything that went into getting that title

Fair enough answer to a staged question. Yeah I would be there if they would have invited me on an off week.

Nick thinks we should do it around his schedule and him conduct recruiting visits at midfield after the ceremony.

Yeah, I can see that by the lack of posts from Bama fans about LSU. By the way, if true, you may need to get some male friends instead of hanging with insecure women. I know many competitive/jealous LSU fans when it comes to Bama, but I don't know one that gives a $hit about how Bama views LSU.

By the way, Nick did his video saying hi to the 2003 team wearing a 2011 BCS NC hat... I think they're gonna broadcast it before the game at the stadium.

There has never been a greater event (of course there have been equal events) than nick Saban getting Michael Clayton and Marcus spears to come to LSU. That one event has rocked this entire century of college football.
