Losing the recruiting war this season has UGA fans absurdly triggered.
There's no shame in second best. You should probably get used to it.

So you're comparing a team that went 49-15 (3-2 bowl) to a team that went 27-29 (1-0 bowl) in the 5 years before each coach took over their programs.
Also I don't think UGA was on probation.
During Saban's entire time with Mich. State, they were either being investigated or on probation.
Saban was hired right in the middle of the NCAA investigation in 95. The NCAA handed down sanctions Sept. 96, Saban's 2nd year. Mich. St. was hit hard with 4 years probation, and recruiting reductions.

How old are you? Do you remember 1990s LSU?

Gene Chizik won a natty in his second year. LArry Coker did too. You wanna argue they are better than Kirby, Saban, and every other legit good coach ever, be my guest. Kirby has had a good last couple of years. Only time will tell if he is more Saban than Richt.

And Richt's first 3 years were better than Kirby's. So what?

Les Miles first 3 years at LSU are a better comparison.
Spoiler: Les wins.

Since the resources and talent available at Michigan State back then are comparable to UGA now

The 2 programs are not even on the same level . Most great head coaches win championships in their first 2-4 years at major programs. So next is Kirby’s year to join the elites.

I think MSU was coming off probation when Saban went there...
Was just starting Probation and Sanctions.
They had to forfeit their 5 wins in 1994 leaving them 0-12
They also lost 9 Scholarships.

Congrats, You now understand how life works, an older person teaches a younger person what they have learned so that they can go into their lives with learned experience and learn new things, better things, they can (should) become better.

Wow, three loses per season and third best team in the West two straight years.

All sorts of coaches have been better than 19-16 their first 3 years.
That is meaningless.
Hell I would have to look it up but I even think Paul Johnson was.
Hundreds of pitchers have better first three years than sandy koufax had too.

LSU had gone 7-15 in the two seasons before Saban arrived in Baton Rouge. Not exactly the same circumstances.
