Big difference between MSU and Georgia

Which is why you compare with what the team did in the years prior.

Saban was there 5 or 6 years and won nada. Guess it took him some time to develop. Longer than Kirby
The air of vaguely desperate validation that's clinging to some (not all by any means) UGA fans here is a little sad. Most (reasonable) people would say Kirby's done very well so far. But for some of you, that's just not good enough. Y'all have to try and measure his dick against the GOAT because...well, it's not entirely clear. Have all those Auburn troll threads regarding how long it's been since UGA won a national title somehow wormed their way permanently into your psyche or something? It sure seems that way for some of you. It's almost as if you're willing to burn your program's history to the ground in order to argue that Kirby has accomplished an absolute miracle in elevating Georgia. I'd expect this sort of thing from, say, Vanderbilt fans if our program achieved the same heights, not UGA.

But did he run a fake punt on 4th and 11?
I mean, this can’t be mentioned enough. God damn that was a stupid play call.

Kirby is Richt and Richt is Kirby. Not one iota of difference between the two at this point.

You do not understand the purpose of this thread.

Right now, Kirby is doing the job of a DGD in his first stint as a HC.
Actually Kirby is doing the very things you fired Richt for. Head scratching blowouts and not being able to win a National Championship

Oh, I understand perfectly. But it was a stupid troll from the outset. UGA fans got caught up in actually debating the numbers seriously. A good troll doesn't catch its own fanbase so readily due to being so easily disputed.

Nobody is debating the numbers seriously and nobody thinks Kirby is as good as Saban. Its called piling on.
But it is true that Saban could not win the Big Ten but Dantonio could.

Ok, guys, let's level.
The point of this post wasn't to say Kirby is Saban. The point is to say that writing the story Kirby's career in his first 3 years as a head coach is completely unfair.
Obviously he has some advantages, but by most measures Kirby compares very favorably with anyone I can think of in their first 3 years as a head coach. You can't say what he will be, but you have to admit (if you're being fair) he's done pretty damn well so far.

Smart Vandy guy- what numbers can be “easily disputed”? I’m on pens and needles

Every UGA fan in here would rather go 0-12 in ‘16 and ‘17 in exchange for a title this year. But congrats on that record. Keep running laps.

hey may not (may not, because even good schools like UGA have their fair share of dumbasses) think Kirby is as good as Saban, but they're absolutely looking for validation.
...must be book smart

You just aren't paying attention. Understandable, you are a Vandy fan and probably have a real job. Bama fans are rustled and starting troll threads left and right

Well Georgia has the largest back pop of any state with by far the greatest black participation in HS football of any state which means there are more great athletes in Georgia than Ca or Texas or Florida. And zero in state competition. Makes you wonder why the Dawgs are truly dogs. Under Richt and now so far under Kirby. They have averaged 3 losses per season under Smart.
Let Kirby begin his career at MSU (the AU of Mich) back when they were mediocre then go to LSU with a back ground of losing seasons on top of losing seasons and the most negative fan base in the history of the sport. Then take over an Alabama that had been destroyed by probation and go 12-0 his 2nd year regular season with Shula "recruits"...And 14-0 his third with a natty and still Shula guys. Then compare apples to apples. I can assure you there would be no comparison. Kirby is a great coach. But he has lost more than Richt his first three years. Richt was 32-8.
