At this point, would Saban really want to keep him? Would be an odd situation for sure.

ATTENTION----ATTENTION----ATTENTION

This situation isn't about the player. IT'S ABOUT THE COACHES!!
If a coach leaves your staff or even if the HC changes schools, no current HC with a brain is going to give a player permission to transfer to the school where the past coach went. It's as close to a non-compete clause as you can get in college athletics...DAMN!!...it ain't rocket science!!

She makes it sound like he's been fricking miserable the last 4 yrs playing on multiple championship teams with the best defense in the country. WTF Momma?

Exactly. I have no problem with him leaving. Do what you want, if you can. But excuses like that from momma just seem ridiculous. He has to go to Georgia to be successful now? Get outta here.

I will remind you that this is an SEC rule that all the SEC schools agreed to.

why did Saban break the rule then by allowing Black to transfer to MZ?

But it is fine for a coach to go from one SEC school
to another right?

(a) he didn't "break" the rule, the rule gives him the option

(b) Chris Black was never going to play at Alabama. He has an opportunity to play at Missouri. Pretty easy

(C) Mo Smith will play the same role at Georgia he plays at Alabama, which is a nickel/dime pass defense package player.

Pretty easy to see the difference.

That's not obvious? Mizzou doesn't have several former assistants.

Because Mizzou is not on nearly the same playing 1field as Bama. It was a good deal for all parties. Black would've never played at Bama. He got to transfer to a school where he could play, and Bama doesn't have to worry about him contributing against them because he'll be gone by 2018 when they play.

UAG could easily see Bama in ATL this year (obviously I hope this doesn't happen)

That's what I'm saying! Schools do have a way to keep their players from following coaches to other schools when the coach leaves. If it wasn't possible to stop them, there would be players moving all over the board in college football. You see head coaches taking assts. with them when they leave...what if they could entice players to leave (and don't bring up the legality of it ).

If my Dawgs don't win the East, I hope it's Mizz and WRCB scores 95 TDs

Only one I can remember is Tubs from Ole Miss to Auburn? Have there been other SEC head coaches that left their job for another SEC job?

Yes there are different rules for coaches and players as there should be. Teachers can leave and go to another school anytime they please. My son in public school doesn't have that luxury unless I up and move my family.

Damn, you're mad over this. Funny thing is, Smart would do this exact same thing given a similar circumstance.

Hootie Nutt from Hawgs to OleMiss is the most recent I believe.

I think he's referring to assistants moving around, but the same thing applies to assts. You can't let a kid transfer to the same school where the previous coach went.

How could the SEC possibly block a current SEC coach from gaining employment at another SEC program? It's up to each individual school to place restrictions/penalties on a coach if he decides to leave and work for another conference team, i.e. Arkansas has restrictions their HC - he can't take a HC job at another SEC school without paying Arky a ton of $$.
