At least 3 SEC backs could reach 3,835 career rushing yards in 2016, which is the total to break into the Top 10 all-time.

Fournette needs 848 yds
Chubb needs 1541 yds
Hurd needs 1648 yds

There may be others (please list). Hurd is the intriguing one. Of the 3, he is most likely to stay for a 4th year. If he does, even at just 1000 yds/yr average, he would hit top 5 all-time. Discuss.

Seems unlikely. He's going to need 330 rushes.

Bo Scarbrough probably does it in 12 games. Only needs roughly 3,600 yards.

Not sure how much playing time he'll get at the beginning of the season. Still monitoring his progress.

It's going to be an uphill climb for Hurd to reach that target number while splitting carries with Kamara.

Would love to see it happen though. Also, I think there's less than a 10% chance he comes back after his Junior year. Hope he proves me wrong

I would think as RB heavy as the NFL draft will be, he would at least be thinking about waiting a year just for draft position.

Barring an injury Fournette easily clears that mark. The kid has a ton of talent and I would not be surprised to see him hit 848 by the half way mark of the season.

The big question is will he be effective against the better teams on the schedule this year? I don't blame Fournette mind you, but when the other side is keying on him every play its hard to get going.

Whether its through play action passes or even throwing the option out there LSU needs to give their opponents some threat other then Fournette. If they do that then they have a shot at competing for a playoff bid.

No SEC RB rushes for over 100 yds against Bama for the year.

Will Fournette break 50 yards against OM? Doubtful.

He only has 220 yards in 2 games against them.

Probably won't be quite that high. 1400 seems about right. But if he comes back for his senior year (doubtful) he will almost definitely end up top 5 all time, maybe even top 3. Then again LF could very well do that in 3 years. Crazy to think we have 3 potential top 10 rushers right now in the SEC.

I am hopeful of at least 2 such carries in the OM game.

Holy crap. Did an Arkansas fan just make an actually accurate assessment about Fournette? I didn't think it was possible. Well done sir.
