re: What good reason is there to believe in God?
Posted by Albino Potato on 3/18/25 at 12:27 am
The Romans were very good at killing people. Jesus died, they even speared his side to make sure. Jesus was resurrected 3 days later and appeared to 500 eye witnesses over 40 day period. So much so that those disciples were completely on fire for God that they went out and spread the gospel even under threat of death. They didn’t care because they know what they saw was undeniable. You don’t do that for something fake. The joke would be up, you’d say anything to live. But all of them were killed for spreading Jesus’ teachings and what they witnessed. Just go look at all the prophecy’s fulfilled. The Old Testament predates prophecy’s from the New Testament by thousands of years. It’s incredible. We are talking lineages, rise and fall of kingdoms, and of course the birth of Jesus(and the exact lineage he’d be from).
How do you know George Washington existed, you never saw him? Could be fake but no you understand and trust that credible people saw him and witnessed what he did.
I understand I won’t just make you believe with some random post on the OT. Believe me I understand where I am lol. But brother I’ve been down the road of questioning all kinds of stuff with religion. Just go look at all the prophecy’s the Bible correctly predicted. Go look at where they’ve found the chariots in the river where Moses led them across in Egypt. Go google the mountain side where the 10 commandments were given and see the fire burned into the side of it. Go see how they have thousands of 99.9% sulphur bulbs in the middle of where Sodom and Gomorrah were. There are many more examples. Please don’t let the way man has perverted Christianity block you from God’s word. I’ve been there, go scrutinize it, it holds up. Don’t worry about getting into some debate with some random guy on tigerdroppings. Google Cliffe Knechtle, he goes around to college campuses and answers tough questions that I think you may have.

Yeah I didn’t think peat was end of the world I just heard make sure you don’t have too much because box stores will sometimes sell you plants caked in that stuff and crappy soil. We’ve always completely freed our plants of the soil they came with before putting them in our mixture. But are you making a distinction between peat moss and peat? Because it seems like there is based off what I’ve read. I never thought of them as different until your brought it up just referring to it as peat. Pear by itself seems very hard to come by, where do you get yours for the mix?

Thanks for all your time and insight you’ve put into this thread! I do have a question about peat. Are you differentiating from peat moss? Because finding peat by itself seems to be hard. Did a google search of differences and seems there is an obvious one. I’ve heard peat moss isn’t good for your plants but I’m guessing that’s probably in bigger ratios. Most of the big box store brands like miracle grow put that crap in there soil. I saw you mentioned coco coir and rice rolls which is nice but what about vermiculite as an alternative?
re: Important Podcast you should listen to about Big Pharma/food Companies keeping us sick

I’ve been cutting out lots of crap that were told is good for us lately. Once you see the amount of plastic/pesticides/PFAS/metals that are in everyday foods that are “healthy” it’s honestly scary. No wonder we have such low rates of testosterone, fertility, and rising number of stomach/colon cancer.lOnce you go down that rabbit hole be prepared to throw away a lot of stuff in your pantry and really examine what’s in the Ingredients on the back of your food. Just wait till you read the crap they put in our clothes/colognes/deodorant that’s absorbed through our skin…
Don’t believe me, there’s tons of research from now back to the 80’s. I was just in a thrift store and found a medical journal published 1982 and it had articles about sweeteners/sugar/ and seed oils in our food. Basically it has a section for current studies and gives a synopsis of what they found. Pretty much said “hey, I think this stuff is gonna mess up our hormones and gut, our early test subjects aren’t showing good results. We should definitely take a closer look at this.” But like always corporate greed and the need to make things for cheapest price and sell for biggest price with quality be dammed.
Just for fun look up Americans who travel in Europe with gluten allergies and lactose issues. They eat all the stuff there and no issues. Bread isn’t made to last shelves for more than 3 days. Reason why real bakeries give half off for “day old bread.”

Steven Adams played 42 game last year for the grizzlies and they have much better team defense than the Pelicans. Also, Triple J there definitely helps everyone.
No hate on Adams but people need to stop propping him up into something he’s not.

Wait, because there’s a higher black population that means black on black crime= white mans fault? Isn’t that their utopia? No white people around just the culture??

If anyone wants to give the notion that there is something going on, listen to the podcast Weaponized with Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp. You’ve probably heard Jeremy on Joe Rogan before. I went into this thinking ok this is gonna be some stupid crap where some nerds think everything in the sky is a damn UFO. Not at all. These guys are very discerning with what they are willing to call UFOs and what’s not. They have insane connections to the military and government. At first it’s information overload but they show their backstory and how George Knapp was the first to expose Area 51. If you give it a honest listen, I really think most will be intrigued.

I think you mean seeing someone yawn makes you have to yawn as well…not the same thing when smelling a fart.
re: Two targets: Monte Morris & Gary Trent Jr.

I’d like a true point guard to help this offense but if not I say reliable wings who can shoot and play above average defense. Herb and Trae are improving but can’t be counted on 100% yet. When we get to playoffs, we’ve seen that teams are gonna double Zion and BI and force the others to make shots.
I’d be ok looking at Malik Beasley, Trent Jr, Kuzma, etc.

My grandpa, dad, my brother and me were all Eagle Scout’s. It was just kind of understood like going to college at LSU. Unfortunately, if I have sons they will not be on scouting. Which is unfortunate, However, the stuff they teach you in scouting like good morals, respect for people, and basic-higher level survival in the outdoors will be passed on. I can promise you that.

Go watch the HBO documentary they did on him a few years ago. It’s extremely well done and tells these stories. He lived a very sad life because of his condition and people always wanting stuff from him. It made me sad for the guy and really look at certain famous people differently.

Haha, it was an Adrian Peterson jersey. Dude must’ve got that thing incredibly discounted.
re: Hassan Whiteside still a FA... do we?
Posted by Albino Potato on 7/26/22 at 12:09 pm
He used to be a solid player but right after Miami paid him he got bad at defense. People often confuse blocks with good defense and Whiteside is a good example. He’s not a bad backup but I’d rather give the roster spot to Summer league/G league guy then Whiteside. That’s just my opinion for this young team. If he were like older Tyson Chandler and could help with the team culture then yes but this guy is not that guy.

Maason Smith is special. He’s got that combination of freakish strength and speed. The others are well earned and will do great, deserve to be on that list but Smith pops off the screen to me as the highest upside.
re: Hawks get Dejounte Murray for 3 firsts
Posted by Albino Potato on 6/29/22 at 11:28 pm
I’m so glad he won’t play us 4 times a year anymore. He would always have huge games against us and he gave BI problems. He’s a legit defender and a great fit on any team.
re: Lidell was a 1st rounder in most mocks

I really liked him. I was always thought in the NBA he could be PJ Tucker but with a much better and consistent 3pt shot. He’s a dog and will be a guy pushing to get some solid minutes come middle of the season. Amazing value and if he never pans out, so be it but I think his defense and spot of 3 will keep him in the league.
re: Possible meniscus tear, anyone ever been through it?
Posted by Albino Potato on 5/11/22 at 9:26 am
Tore mine 3.5 years ago. They were able to repair mine. Like posters said before pros and cons to the repair vs just shaving down/removing part of the tear.
The repair is better long term and help with postponing early onset arthritis. If you get it just shaved/removed then you will be walking in a week, will need basic PT but you run the risk of early arthritis.
I can’t recommend finding a good orthopedist enough. Ask around or if you have any friends in medical community. I have surgery ties to BR and Lafayette and can tell you who to go to if you want. Don’t read reviews online, they can manipulate that stuff to make everyone look good, talk to people who work in surgery or see their patients post OP.
I had mine repaired which has been great. But the rehab is a bitch. You will be put in an immobilizer brace just like the ones they use for an ACL surgery, for 6-8 weeks. Yes, you can flex/extend it after a week or so and are encourage to do so. Sleeping with that brace you will be so uncomfortable but they will give you Percocet and a Norco which will help BIG time. Don’t get behind on pain medication but I only used mine for like 7 days max and trashed the rest, didn’t even finish the full prescription. Don’t be stupid and abuse it, Percocet scared the shite out of me. But I absolutely needed it to knock me out so I could sleep first few nights then I got off as soon as I could. Ibuprofen worked just fine after that. Also, go buy a few good ice packs.
You will need a good PT for sure. Ask if they have a Game Ready machine which will help big time. Rehab is critical, you will have so much muscle atrophy you will feel like a little bitch walking on it for the first time. Only issues now is I have a Bakers cyst which is behind your knee and like once a year or so it might be inflamed and feel tight when I walk. I was told take a 2x normal Ibuprofen for like 1 day and it goes down, which works for me. But don’t skimp on the PT and just embrace it, it’s a process.
